XV 'Vizzy Zone' [MIXTAPE]

For those following the ever increasing buzz on up and coming midwest rapper, XV, you have likely heard a thing or two about Vizzy Zone. The long-awaited mixtape from XV has now arrived and he continues to showcase skills first exhibited from Everybody's Nobody, but this time over improved production across the board. The mixtape flows really well from track to track with powerful, sometimes epic, moods being illustrated from the sounds. Once XV gets past a couple of self-boasting tracks, the fun "Vizzy Zone" kicks off the strongest stretch of the mixtape where Vizzy's rhymes and concepts improve. He definitely holds his own amidst his biggest feature to date from Talib Kweli on "Reset Button", one of my favorite tracks on the tape, and presents a mix of relatable situations and instant imagery on tracks like "She Go, I Go" f/ Chiddy (of Chiddy Bang) and "Falling Awake". Vizzy even incorporates some singing here and there (think Cudi-type singing), which adds an even additional element to his repertoire. Vizzy also channels on some of the success he has earned so far in his young career, as well as some of the times he has been overlooked, which are both exhibited through slick double meanings at times and represent Vizzy's realness; realness that we, in general, are all attracted to. I've seen him rock the crowd first-hand and one last thing about Vizzy Zone that I can see right away is the additional sounds and songs that will definitely add to Vizzy's arsenal to get the crowd moving in his live set. Vizzy Zone is a fun listen from top to bottom and a mixtape that will certainly find a spot in my rotation. Download above and peep the tracklist after the jump! Enjoy!
