The Five One 'Mandatory' leads new music update

FULL, CDQ, 1st Single off upcoming album, Red Blue Green Gold *Tibs Fav.™

The Five One have been performing their new single "Mandatory" across many of their live sets since SXSW in the spring and have decided that now is the time to let loose the 1st single off their upcoming album, Red Blue Green Gold, for download. Per usual, the DMV foursome combines their unique styles and sounds of hip hop and alternative, and throws a lil' pop into "Mandatory". The autotune may raise your eyebrows at first, as it did mine, but I think it works the more I listen to it. Don't get turned away as the autotune is not all that prevalent in the song. "Mandatory" has got a dope (autotune-free) chorus that is a non-cliche and relatable to the friends and family that encourage and understand us. That positive theme is carried out across the song, which contains a nice lil' intro and outro as well. Certainly one to check out and download above as The Five One will surely have more to come before their release of Red Blue Green Gold.
