The Gowhere Tape: Volume 1
Presented by: Gowhere Hip Hop

We are proud to present The Gowhere Tape: Volume 1  featuring 20 WORLD PREMIERES from some of the most talented and fast-rising artists in Chicago hip hop, R&B, and pop music, available for download above! As you know with Gowhere Hip Hop, we promote a variety of artists of different styles and genres, so why should our mixtape be any different? The beauty is: there is somethin' on here for everyone! So let's walk you through it...

GemStones and newcomer Dat Bizness kick things off with a furious Chicago record as Gem sets the tone right off the bat with a singing chorus. From there, we get into a banger from Chicago emcee Paypa and another banger of a different kind with LA & Mr. Music channeling a rock sound for a motivational record called "Bright Midnight". The next phase of the mixtape showcases some fresh club and alternative: Rotimi, singer/songwriter Riz and Huey, upcoming pop trio Krewella and S-Preme, and The Five One all come correct with some fresh feel-good records. Riz and The Five One may not have direct Chicago ties, but as you also know, GWHH isn't exclusively promoting Chicago artists... just talented ones.

The young J. Taylor then collaborates with Mr. Music for the captivating "Dreams", followed by a string of raw Chicago hip hop starting with MarVo's "Nightmare". Notice the two titles there? The "Dreams" to "Nightmare" transition signals the next phase of the mixtape to ride with - some straight rap from some of Chicago's budding wordsmiths. Rockie Fresh, YP, Dane One, and Esohel spit some hard emotions before a soulful, unreleased Kidz In The Hall track. Nizm picks things up again with an energetic, fast-pace that is carried across the next few tracks from Legit, Pugs Atomz, and Savant. The mixtape ends with some records focused on the females as Savant's "The Show" transitions into R&B tracks from Chicago mainstay Slique and up and comer De'Lorean. Finally, check out the previously released bonus track from Rhymefest - his current single off the upcoming album, El Che, "Say Wassup" f/ Phonte - a dope record to ride to with your windows down.

In fact, we formulated the mixtape to be a long-lasting CD or playlist that you can vibe with and sift through depending on your mood. We also wanted to get you more accumulated with some of the fast-rising talent and hope you open your ears and mind to some new music and new artists!

You can stream the mixtape below and download it in its entirety above! Whether you are a longtime Gowhere reader or it is your first time on the site, this is a project you don't want to miss! Shouts to Maks G. for spearheading the project with myself and for producing our fresh, animated cover, whaaaat!?! We hope you enjoy the tape, drop a comment with your favorite track, and last but not least, thank you all for your support!
