Producer: Double-O & Just Blaze? - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Land Of Make Believe *Tibs Fav.™
Here goes one more single off the upcoming album, Land Of Make Believe from the Kidz, who recruit Just Blaze and Colin Munroe for the motivational "Take Over The World". Such a unique mix of talent with Naledge on the first couple verses, Colin Munroe on hook duty, and Just Blaze with an unnecessary, yet not detracting outro. First, we'll start with the hook: the song's most defining characteristic because of Munroe's unique delivery and voice (already a given) but also because of the inspiring and simple message that is easy to recite over and over again. It may come off a bit cliche, but that doesn't bother me as the lil' trail of autotune that made its way into the last part of the chorus. Naledge also experiments with the autotune in verse 2; not to go 'pop' or anything but just to enhance the impact of his lyrics where he basically says that their music is better than in the clubs. I get the idea behind the technique but didn't really think it sounded all that good. Rather, I would have been interested to hear Naledge use that small part of the verse to pick up the pace before falling back to the slower pace that he rhymes at throughout the whole song. That's my only real gripe with Naledge's verses as the positives are aplenty. The verses continue the motivational theme and he shows love to his city with a Scottie Pippen reference and how he ends the second verse. In fact, Naledge ends both verses flawlessly and effortlessly into the hook, creating the most hyped moment of the track: the transition from verse to hook. To take a look at the broader scope of how this fits on the album, well, this Kidz track sounds nothing like the previous leaks - a great sign in my opinion of the variety that we can definitely expect on Land Of Make Believe. Once again, March 9th folks!
Down below, the audio continues with a mix of hip hop, R&B, and pop. Overlooking new tracks from the likes of Lil' Wayne, Birdman (shouts 2 LWHQ), Gucci Mane (shouts 2 X), Rick Ross, and Game (shouts 2 57th Ave), which are all not my style, the freestyles from .5 of Slaughterhouse and Trey Songz are well worth your while. Joe Budden & Royce Da 5'9" use the Lloyd Banks single "Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley" as a backdrop for their latest lyrical onslaught. They come at it real tough and it works, with even Royce sendin' out a jab to the Waka Flocka Flame's of the rap world. *applauds* Trey shines on his latest freestyle, sporadically flowing with the beat and punctuating punchlines the way he can by hitting some of them high notes. Browse the rest of the tracks featuring other big names like Mario (shotus 2 YK2), Akon, Pitbull, and more! Enjoy!
