Just wanted to kick off this morning with a fresh and awesome look for Chicago as G.O.O.D. Music artist Really Doe took the stage to perform "Mesmerized" w/ Danny Klein and "Follow Me" on Jimmy Kimmel's telecast last night. Doe came correct spitting word for word til he was almost out of breath. I particularly enjoyed seein' Really Doe and Klein on stage for the first time together adding a new energy to one of my favorite tracks from 2009. Doe nailed the first verse of "Mesmerized" for the national audience and concluded with a well-chosen couple verses from "Follow Me". "Follow Me"'s uplifting and positive hook is something that hopefully the viewers can take away on what was likely their first impression (hah!) of Really Doe. First Impressions in stores now!
A trio of new tracks and a pair of videos conclude the post as down below the "Me, You RMX" is the most notable of the batch. I enjoyed the reflective lyrics, save for parts of the last verse, that make "Me, You" a good hip hop track that plenty will dig. There's another new RMX of "Forever" (shouts 2 X) that I fast forwarded for Esso's verse and another Usher leak for this week. Sadly, it's clearly the worst Usher song I've heard in a while. I did not like the Will.I.Am production and influence (with the autotune), which is all unappealing, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt at a pop track. Simply scroll down to the previous posts if you want your Usher fix.
OR scroll down to the videos as Kenna, Lupe Fiasco, and the entire gang, which also features Santigold and Jessica Biel, started their climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro today in their quest to raise money and awareness for clean drinking water across the world. Be sure to follow their progress at SummitOnTheSummit.com. Finally, peep an additional video of a nice performance of "Popular Demand" with a heavy influence coming from The Roots on Jimmy Fallon. Enjoy!
