UPDATE: Lupe Fiasco & Kenna "Resurrection" (prod. Mike Shinoda) has been added to the playlist!

Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette, Slash, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias, and Lupe Fiasco have all teamed up with Music For Relief (founded by Linkin Park) to aid the earthquake victims of Haiti. Simply navigate the media player above to stream and download unreleased tracks from the various artists listed above and make sure to find out more information and how to help donate at the Music For Relief homepage. Kenna, Lupe Fiasco, and Mike Shinoda have linked up for a track, hitting the studio last night, which will be updated above when it receives a final master. The artists deserve nothin' but a round of applause for their efforts and on top of all that, a fan of anything will surely find a new track that they like above!

Down below is the rest in a full new music update that we tried to get up ASAP as we battled through some internet connection problems, haha. Nevertheless, there's a nice batch of new hip hop that kicks off with a Mikkey Halsted banger (shouts 2 Andrew), some Lil' Wayne (shouts 2 Miss Info), some new "I Wanna Rock RMXs" *yawns* (shouts 2 splash), and some hot verses from the likes of Saigon, Kid Cudi, Chip Tha Ripper, and Charles Hamilton (peep his last verse). Videos include a quartet of big names with Drake, 50 Cent, and the premieres for Clipse's "Freedom" for Usher's "More" (a track that's grown into my rotation). And you'll also notice a video still from S-Preme for his song "Radio" off S-Preme's The Sicktape Volume Two - looks real dope. Bet that's comin' soon. Enjoy!

I have an observation and thought about the current situation in Haiti.

Observation:
The earthquakes in Haiti have been devastating. For over a week we have watched the horror and misery brought by the 7.0 earthquake and aftershocks. Crumbled buildings, dead and dying bodies in the street, the misery of thirst and hunger, displacement, fear of continued destruction and medical emergencies without sufficient medical supplies and doctors. Our wallets have opened and nations of the world have scrambled to bring humanitarian aid. We rightfully feel horror, sorrow, compassion and grief for these suffering people.

Thought:
It occurred to me these images of suffering and devastation brought on by nature’s fury could easily be a snapshot from the streets of Iraq and Afghanistan during the Iraq wars and current Afghanistan siege by the US and other nations. Crumbled buildings, dead and dying bodies in the streets, the misery of thirst and hunger, displacement, fear of continued destruction and medical emergencies without sufficient medical supplies and doctors. However, there was and is not an outpouring of humanitarian aid to these people like what we see currently with Haiti. Perhaps the world thought they were the ‘enemy.’

Think about it. The difference here is that instead of nature bringing the destruction, it is us bringing this destruction in an arbitrary war. When you look at the TV coverage and see the images of horror and suffering think of what we are doing to mostly innocent civilians in the Middle East. Is this honorable war? Is there such a thing? Suffering does not take political sides.

If you truly feel compassion for suffering people, realize you are indirectly enabling more suffering. Demand the US government stop this arbitrary war in the Middle East and bring our troops home. Realize, on the one hand we are a nation of compassion and equality, but on the other hand we are a blitzkrieg of death and destruction. There is something wrong with this picture.
