Whoo, long day of behind the scenes work here at Gowhere Hip Hop but we're back with your regularly scheduled program in a big way with Atlantic officially unleashing Lupe Fiasco's "I'm Beamin'" - a confirmed track off the upcoming album, Lasers. The record endured a premature leak on Christmas Eve and was quickly shut down by Lupe and his team. This version above is different than that one so if you were lucky enough to grab it then, it's more than worth the time to update your library. The production and mastering sound a considerable amount more polished with little nuances added behind Lupe's verses. As for the lyrical content itself, Lupe paints some vivid imagery in various ways beyond just the chorus. Every verse seems to tie the song even closer together and evokes a mood that may be expressed throughout the album (I've read rumors that "I'm Beamin'" will be the intro). Once again, make sure to grab the record above - a favorite of mine for the past few weeks that is renewed on another level with the even higher quality.
Down below, check out the rest of the day in mp3s as Rhymefest delivers a couple new collabs with Little Brother, slated off his upcoming album, El Che (shouts 2 RH). "How High" comes complete with a great chorus and a balance between that and the verses. It's one that Rhymefest fans should expect from him whereas "Say Wussup" does just the opposite. At least for me, I didn't quite expect a Rhymefest track so focused on the ladies. You'll hear what I mean. It will take a few more listens to grow on me, but I do love his last verse - my favorite of the two tracks. Other tracks include another Twista freestyle/RMX (shouts 2 Andrew) a Lil' Wayne & Pharrell snippet (shouts 2 YAF), and a Polow Da Don produced Keri Hilson & Ne-Yo collab (shouts 2 ThisIsRnB). Some more solid jams below - take a listen for yourself! Enjoy!
