Before we dive into today's new music update, I just wanted to congratulate upcoming Chicago artist, Nikki Lynette on the launch of her new blog here on ChicagoNow.com - Becoming Nikki Lynette. A little bit about Nikki first - she's an up and coming singer/rapper/song-writer/producer who has been making a living in the entertainment industry for the past 6 years. In addition to recording her own original music, she does voiceovers and jingles for national commercials, writes for other artists, and on-air personality work which includes conducting celebrity interviews. Just one visit to her MySpace and you can hear the variety of sounds and styles Nikki Lynette possesses. She also dabbles in cool graphic art that you can see on there also. I look forward to followin' her blog, which should be an energetic, colorful perspective on a multi-faceted artist in the music and entertainment industry. Bookmark it!

Down below is a bevy of updates - nothin' really feature worthy, yet there's a lot of big names. First, Lil' Wayne jumps on DJ Khaled's mega-collab "Fed Up". I still can't get over that it sounds like other Khaled x Runners records so it has yet 2 grow on me. The other big new track of today is The Neptunes-produced "Door Man" from Clipse (shouts 2 Meka). The buzz around Clipse is at an all-time high and while I prefer some of their previously leaked records a little more, "Door Man" is still pretty solid. Mike Schpitz comes through with his last two leaks from his upcoming Love Potion Number 9th mixtape and R&B fans get a lil' fix with the official version of Mary J. Blige's next single "I Am" and a buzz track from Kevin Cossom (shouts 2 JM).

Video interviews galore as Wale first speaks on a lost collabo with Drake and Kid Cudi that would have been over "A Star Is Born"... man, that woulda been crazy! Attention Deficit is in stores today. 50 Cent is on a crazy promo run and hit up Chicago yesterday. Included below is an interesting take on Mobb Deep's "Pearly Gates" well after its release and links to his BISD screening and interviews with Chicago radio stations WGCI and Power92. Browse all the interviews, audio, and video below. Enjoy!
