Lupe Fiasco "Say Something Freestyle"

So Lupe is kind of on a terror. For cryin' out loud, the CDQ of "Say Something" leaked out yesterday, and in comes Lupe Fiasco spitting metaphors for three minutes a day after. 20 seconds in, Lu explains what lit a fire under him with some ridiculous similes that set the tone for the rest of the song. There are plenty of 'rewind' moments, especially as Lupe uses the pauses in the beat to his advantage, including his name-drops of various pizza places. Finally, Lu comes correct with his flow yet again that is especially evidenced with his pronunciation. Aspiring MCs take note. In a couple related Lupe Fiasco notes, his special retrospective show is tomorrow night and tickets are still available and he has officially dropped everyone off FNF, excluding Sarah Green (shouts 2 RH who has the scoop and Shake for the track). Matthew Santos tweeted about his parting ways with FNF - an encouraging note that he's still on good terms with Lupe. No surprise there now that it's official; FNF was an independent label with limited distribution and it was hard for Lupe to lift all those artists off the ground concurrently with growing as an artist himself. I have a good feeling this is all for the better in the end!
