Alchemical Transformation

I've been thinking a lot about the inner workings of life, death, and renewal in my search for knowledge, and they've led me to some new found truths that I now live by and think about everyday. After back-burner treatment I got re-inspired from Lupe's show last night to go forward in writing about alchemical transformation from my own point of view. The reason I was holding off was because I kept questioning if people would accept these taboo explorations, especially on a heavily based hip hop music blog. It's difficult to A) put yourself out there and B) to talk about new uncredited ideas.

I can't really quote him word for word, but the reminder he gave me to re-spark my interest in writing about what I think other people might find weird or crazy went something like this.

No matter what adversities you face. No matter what comes your way to kind of slow you down, to kind of block your progression, that you smile in front of it. Because you know that for every dark day, that there's a sunny day on the way. For every hateful comment, there's another comment that's coming that's full of love, full of appreciation for what you do. So to that I always smile, because I always know that love is coming. For me lasers is like light. It sheds light in the darkness. It's something that's revolutionary, something that stands for change, something that stands for progression. Something that says it's okay to be who I am. That you shed light and they bring darkness. Love always shines every time. Remember to smile. [Lupe Fiasco]

This reminder of acceptance actually reminded me of my goal to rid myself of ego. My ego (fear and doubt) sometimes prevents me from putting up some of my brightest ideas just because they are really out-there, and I want to say publicly that this ends now for the sake of progress & innovation. Hopefully some will find these explorations interesting, and they themselves will be sparked to give life to new ideas & creations too. Come prepared with an open mind, and feel free to comment on anything I write about. I am an alchemist, and proud of it. By the way my real name is Maksim pronounced like the magazine, so I'll now be going by Maks G. Shouts to Preme for sparking that one. Shed that ego, yuuup!
