Jay-Z "Run This Town" f/ Rihanna & Kanye West
The video is here for the song with arguably the biggest combo of three stars in the music industry today¹ as Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West all don some slick black clothing and do their thing in eerie tunnels and in front of a tribal mob. The video provides some sweet visuals with all of the extras and Rihanna looking sexy in black but it gets kind of repetitive for me. I enjoyed my one viewing but have no desire to watch it again. Kanye's verse continues to shine brighter on future listens and his passionate mannerisms in the video certinaly enhance that status. If it wasn't for Jay saying "whatssup?" as frequently as there are Dancing With The Stars seasons², then I could replay the song and/or watch the video over and over. As it stands, "Run This Town" simply has a steady spot in my rotation.
Couple quick links: Rhymefest posted an interesting blog on the differences between hating and constructive criticism and also conveys how he deals with hating. He leaves it open for discussion and says on his Twitter that he reads every single one. ² Seriously though, they're on season NINE?! 9. I thought this started like.. two years ago?! Lookin' forward to 50 Cent's Season 23 appearance.. in about 8 months.
