Topinka discusses tax dollars for religious organizations
Republican candidate for Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka said, at her news conference on October 25, 2009, that she would make payments on unconstitutional grants to religious organizations if the Illinois Attorney General didn't block her from doing so, but the job of the Attorney General is to defend such payments, not stop them.

Judy Baar Topinka will announce, today, that she is a candidate for Illinois Comptroller. At issue is whether or not Topinka would pay on unconstitutional grants to religious organizations.

Christian theater group asks Itasca for $450,000 grant
A Christian theater company has asked the Village of Itasca, a Chicago suburb, for a grant of $450,000 to assist the Christian ministry with the cost of purchasing a permanent home in the village. The requested hotel tax money, however, is intended to be used to promote tourism, not Christianity, in Itasca. This raises the question of state/church separation and the constitutionality of the grant request.

Atheist debates Christian space alien
A debate supposedly took place, earlier today, between a prominent Chicago-area atheist and a space alien who is a Christian. The story of the debate was published in today's Bolingbrook Babbler, a tabloid newpaper that deals in fictitious news.

The Chicago RTA wants to eliminate free rides for seniors. Those free rides should be kept, and paid for with the money that the Illinois General Assembly has unconstitutionally granted to religious organizations.

Moment of Silence Appeals Brief filed by Illinois Attorney General
The Illinois Attorney General has filed her Appeals Brief in the Moment of Silence case. Illinois' most prominent atheist, Rob Sherman, filed the lawsuit in behalf of his daughter, Dawn Sherman, a student at Buffalo Grove High School, challenging the constitutionality of Illinois' Student Prayer Act.

The State of Illinois has cancelled the Grant Agreement to donate $1 million to Pilgrim Baptist Church. The decision was in response to a lawsuit filed by Illinois' most prominent atheist, Rob Sherman.
