Beyonce, Blue Milk & Buffy

If you read the REDEYE weekend edition (and if you don't I must ask "GOOD GOD WHY NOT!?  YOU REALIZE THEY DELIVER IT TO YOUR HOUSE!  FOR FREE EVEN!) you may have come across a little '5-on-5'-esque bit with myself and a few of the other REDEYE bloggers.

I will often make geeky references in the REDEYE 5-on-5 every Monday, and sometimes find myself explaining them to my friends and co-workers who just aren't as steeped in nerd lore as I am.

So...for the benefit of those who may not have 'gotten' my jokes today, here are some videos to enlighten the uninitiated:

Read more after the jump!

Ok, so the first question was: "On 'Video Phone''s collaboration: Lady Gaga or Beyonce?"  I'll admit that I hadn't seen the video yet, so I had to look it up on YouTube:

Beyonce in a sparkly metal bikini got me thinking about another gal in a metal bikini:

Hence, my answer: "She's handling a blaster and dancing in a metal bikini, so it's Beyonce hands down!"

(For all you kiddies who have never seen the Holy Trinity of Motion Picture Trilogies I say COME ON IT'S ON DVD ALREADY!)

The next question had to do with the one thing that's got Americans more worried than health care reform: "Eggo waffle shortage announced. What's for breakfast."

My answer includes a more obscure Star Wars reference: "Bantha bacon with some of Aunt Beru's famous blue milk!  Yummy!"

If you're scratching your head over that one, let this young (and adorable) version of Princess Leia explain what blue milk is:

The last question was easy for me: "If I say 'New Moon,' you say:"

Uh-huh.  I say: "Then Buffy staked Edward.  The End."

Yeah, I know that saying comes from a T-shirt, but it sums up how I feel about the whole Twilight phenomenon quite nicely.  And this music video is pretty funny too!
