Brightest Day or Blackest Night?

According to Aint It Cool News, the execs over at Warner Bros. have decided to go with Ryan Reynolds as their lead in the new Green Lantern movie.



In all honesty, I'm not sure this is the best choice.  Hal Jordan is a straight-laced, hotshot fighter pilot with a bit of a grim side to him.  Reynolds is more suited to play wise-cracking characters, provided they don't decide to sew his mouth shut!  (Why oh why the suits at FOX thought that was a good idea is beyond me.  Deadpool is called the 'Merc with a Mouth' for a reason!  What a bunch of maroons!  Then again, this IS the same studio that DESTROYED the Aliens franchise with the abomination that was Alien 3...and Alien Resurrection did help either.  But I digress.)

I really do like Reynolds and with all the superhero movies he's been doing, my guess is that he's a fan of comics.  So with that in mind, I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt...

Although I think Paul Walker would have been a better choice.

But that's just me.
