President Barack Obama, Sarah Palin and Other Politicians Playable In New NBA Jam Game
EA Sports must have read my mind. I'd always dreamed about Barack
Obama slam dunking in Sarah Palin's face in a basketball game - and now
with secret unlockable characters in the new NBA Jam game, I can actually make this scenario come true!
In an interview with ESPN's Jon Robinson, NBA Jam creative director
Trey Smith revealed that Obama as well as fellow democratic politicians
Joe Biden, both members of the Clinton clan (Bill and Hillary), and Al
Gore are hidden characters in the game. On the Republican side, Palin, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush and John McCain make appearances.
In the new NBA Jam, released in stores today for the Nintendo Wii, there are plenty of characters to unlock, including members of the group The Beastie Boys.
But the political figures sound like the most fun. The NBA Jam team
made logos for the Republicans and the Democrats (an elephant and a
"bad-ass donkey with a mohawk") and they added funny dunk faces to each
of the politicians.
"Dick Cheney has the Darth Vader snarl," said Smith. "Obama makes some great faces. Sarah
Palin is hilarious in the game. She has a beehive haircut and a
helicopter dunk that is just awesome. She also makes some pretty funny
faces in the photos. It's just good clean fun."
Sadly, there's no Rahm Emanuel - who'd be the Dennis Rodman of the politicians basketball team.
