I was looking through the Prelinger Archives and stumbled across this thorough video that details how the Chicago Tribune was produced in 1937, beginning in the forest and ending in print. It's complete with moments of the Tribune staff hard at work delivering the news in 1937.
Although it's rather long for a web video (20mins), it has some pretty entertaining moments and a delightful old-timey, humble narrator (in my imagination it's @ColonelTribune). Enjoy!
My question is, where can I find the entrance to this amazing underground rollercoaster for paper (@ 13:50 in the video)?

Great job on ChicagoNow radio. Ask @brentdpayne for the tour and he'll show you the roller coaster rails.

When you see the rolls of newsprint being moved in the tunnel, that was the last part of the freight tunnel system to be used for that purpose & was used until the new printing plant on Chicago Ave. was built.
The opening music is familiar to all Flash Gordon serial fans. It was used a couple of years after this video in "Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe" & is from "Les Preludes" by Franz Liszt.
