After reading and watching Marcus Leshock's post about the Back to the Future cast reunion I've been jonesing to watch the trilogy again. The ever so talented Eclectic Method has also bought into the BTTF nostalgia creating another one of their masterful works of art. I'd have to say that it's one of their best.

People in high school for better or worse said I resembled Mr. Bean and fellow frycook Josh is an obvious ringer for M.J.... Let's just say that this is an approximation of what would happen if I tried to out-dance Josh. I would like to have that scooter though.

If there is one tradition that consistently holds true for me on Superbowl Sunday, it's eating delicious food. The fabulous Amy Guth gives a crash course in making what appears to be a simple, yet mouth watering jambalaya. It seems like it would be the perfect compliment to the Superbowl, Puppybowl and whatever other bowl you are planning on watching tonight.

As for myself, I'm trying my hand at the Robert Rodriguez 10-min cooking school for Puerco Pibil (or Cochinita Pibil). I'll let you know how it goes.

About a year ago this teaser emerged. It's a commentary on a feeling that almost all people with imaginations have felt since the Star Wars Special Edition and subsequent prequels came and messed around with our idea of what a 'star war' really was. Is it fighters and lightsabers and the force being with you? Or maybe its a wiggly CG frog-man getting his tongue electrocuted and farting while insulting half the population of the planet via minstrel show.

I of course won't hold back my feelings and I think I speak for fellow Frycooks when I say -- The amount of times I've watched my letterbox remastered VHS tapes since 1998 is a true testament to how much we want Star Wars to be the way it originally was. It would be nice to see it again on the big screen without wiggling CG monsters popping up every 20 minutes to interrupt the pace of the narrative or trigger happy Greedo showing off the worst aim of his bounty hunting career at the wrong time while Han Solo shows off his newfound computerized dodge reaction implants. There's really nothing to love in the revisions.

Oh, and also Jar-Jar.

Good luck with this movie guys. Looks like it's on clip to reach broad theatrical release.

Moop Jaw produces an extremely well-crafted music video with some of the most talented child dancers I've seen. If MTV still showed 'M' then surely you would see this video on there. It should go without saying that they are all my new idols.

During late 1991, what looks to be a packed family room in Tehran Iran was transformed into an ultimate break dance battle for the ages. According to the videos description, this video features renowned Iranian b-boys Shahram Kharchang, Reza Bache, Mehdi Tony, and Ahmad Lore during their glory days. Enjoy!

Epic music, quick cuts, gratuitous close-ups, and sounds of things clicking: in a nutshell, these represent the art of the Hollywood suit-up scene. They are simple, quick shots of adrenaline that kick the movie into the next gear without much viewer effort. Growing up, this was one of my favorite parts of a movie. It was easy for me to understand, and the lack of special effects made it a snap to re-enact at home.

I was looking through the Prelinger Archives and stumbled across this thorough video that details how the Chicago Tribune was produced in 1937, beginning in the forest and ending in print. It's complete with moments of the Tribune staff hard at work delivering the news in 1937.

Although it's rather long for a web video (20mins), it has some pretty entertaining moments and a delightful old-timey, humble narrator (in my imagination it's @ColonelTribune). Enjoy!
