Cheap Waxing and Other Daily Chicago Deals

They say you should take some ibuprofin before you go in to get waxed, but honestly? That's for weenies. The first time I ever got waxed was 6 weeks after having my first baby, and as the young woman pulled off the strips and apologized profusely, I just laughed. You call that pain?

The cost of smooth, smooth skin for spring break or summer bathing suits, though? That hurts me. Hurts me deep.

So I'm considering grabbing today's YouSwoop offer: $35 for $75 worth of waxing at Suite Escape Hair Studio on N. Clark. (If you're not already a YouSwoop member, sign up through me so I can get rich!* I promise I'll still be frugal if I do.)

And if you snag it, comment here to let us know what parts you're getting waxed.

(No. I'm kidding. Please don't do that. We don't want to know.)

YouSwoop is a lot like Groupon: You buy the gift certificate for discounted services and it's good for awhile, in this case one year. I recently used my first YouSwoop certificate to get a bunch of laundry washed and folded at Drive Cleaning. It went fine, except that I wasn't exactly sure how much laundry I was sending in and I think I ended up paying $10 or so cash beyond the gift certificate. Still, it was pretty sweet to get a week's worth of laundry delivered to my door folded so crisply the corner of my sheets gave me a paper cut!

Other daily deals in Chicago for Tuesday, March 9:

Groupon: $20 for $40 certificate to Friendship Chinese Restaurant

Two Buck Duck: $2 for a yoga class at Moksha Yoga Center

We Give to Get: $12 for two tickets to iO Improv Theater (half price)

You've Gotta Get It: $50 for $120 in services at Maxine Salon on Rush
