Sunday Ads 12/20: Christmas Prep Edition

stocking.jpg

There are no coupons in today's paper and all I'm really thinking about as I read this morning's Sunday newspaper ads is how to fill the gaps in my gift-buying, stocking-stuffing and wrapping inventories. So here's my last-minute gift guide based on the sales advertised in today's Sunday paper:

WRAPPING SUPPLIES

Green or purple 3-packs of Scotch tape are $2.99 at both Target and Walgreens (with in-ad coupon). Big Lots has Red 3-packs of transparent tape for $1.25, but I don't know if the rolls are the same size.

Hallmark stores: this isn't in a Sunday ad, but I'm hitting a Hallmark store to get wrapping paper with the $5/$5 printable coupon. Thanks to this tip from Mashup Mom, I hope to get two big rolls for $1 after the coupon.

KIDS STOCKING STUFFERS

Target has a 16-pack of Pip-Squeaks markers for $3, and other markers are also on sale

Michael's advertising stocking stuffers for $1 and up. They also have a bunch of coupons which I'd like to use to get some paint brushes and other art supplies fror stockings: 15% off entire purchase including sale items today Sunday only, 4-6 p.m.; 50% off a regular price item through Tuesday, and a different 50% off a regular-priced item Wednesday and Thursday.

Target has giant floor pads of drawing paper (30 sheets) for $3, small wooden puzzles for $4 and art activity kits (like personalize a messenger bag) for $8.

Menards is reducing the cost of toys progressively as Chistmas approaches: 46% off today, 48% off Monday and 50% off Tuesday-Thursday. What toys does Menards have? In the picture I see Crayola sets and puzzles.

You can't use the $1/2 Zooth or Crest at CVS because it's limit 1 on the Extrabucks. However, there's a $1/1 coupon for Oral-B floss or Crest glide in the 11/29 P&G that makes it free. There's also printable $2 on Nivea and $1 on Thermacare out there.
At Walgreens, cans of peanuts are 99 cents for 10oz.

I'm so excited this year to give stockings. They're so full of cheap (and free) goodies like Toblerone, almonds, Fannie May, Burts Bee, etc. Thank you couponing! And thank you, Carrie, for all your work on your blog!

Walmart has a Motorola LG200 phone for only $29.99. I got my daughter that along with the Straight Talk unlimited prepaid plan for $45 a month. It's not $5/$50, but since it's unlimited everything it's a budget gift for me because she won't be running up any big texting bills.

Check out your local Dollar General. For $10, you can get a cell phone bundle for Tracfone. It comes with a car charger, handsfree headset and a case in additional to double minutes. What a deal!!!
This is what I'm going to use to stuff my neices and nephews stocking this year!
