I'm up in Wisconsin, the turkey hasn't hit the table yet, and while my in-laws are all drinking and having a great time, I'm poring over these flyers for you. OK, and maybe for myself a little bit. I haven't decided whether to venture out tomorrow, but if I do it will be to Toys R Us, Target or both.
Before you start reading, be warned that local stores may vary in their hours and you should call anyplace you plan to hit before going if possible. They'll probably have their store hours on the message even if you call while it's closed today. (Then again, a disturbing number of stores are actually open today on Turkey Day.) Also, there's no substitute for picking up a paper and poring over these ads yourself. Not only will you likely find stuff you are interested in that didn't catch my eye, but there also may be restrictions on these items that I did not reproduce here.
And here we go! The Black Friday newspaper ad highlights:
Target, open 5 a.m. to 11 pm Friday. Free $10 gift card when you spend $100 or more, Friday until noon. Lots of toys at 50% off including Leapfrog Fridge Phonics and a plastic monstrosity called the Disney Princess Enchanted Musical Vanity at $49.99 (my 5-year-old would die for this, but she's not going to get that opportunity). Indiana Jones and other Lego sets that sell fro $89.99 are $49.99. Preschool games including Don't Break the Ice are $5. There's a Tom Tom GPS for $97, normally $249.99, and a Garmin Nuvi GPS for $179, normally $279.99.
Toys R Us opens at midnight Thanksgiving night and their doorbusters last until 1 p.m. If you buy an iPod Touch ($199.99 for the 8GB variety) you get a $50 gift card. They're selling one of those Furreal ponies for $99.99, usually $299.99. Also a Vivtar 8.1MP camera for $39.99 (normally $69.99). And don't forget that diaper deal.
Old Navy is open Thanskgiving at 12 pm (??), then on Friday at 3 am. There's a coupon in the flyer for $10/$50, Thanksgiving day ONLY. Also Thanksgiving only, you can play Rock Band in the store, and you can get a free Rock Band guitar if you buy the game. On Friday, you can get a free Lego Rockband video game with a $20 purchase, $5 graphic tees, $5 performance fleece tops, $15 kids and toddlers frost-free jackets, and jeans at $10 for kids sizes and $15 for adult sizes. Saturday only, holiday stockings are $2 (regular $9.50).
Carson Pirie Scott: I don't actually have a Carson's flyer up here in Wisconsin, but I noticed that the Boston Store flyer/booklet has a $10$10 coupon in it. Since they are the same company, I would look for a $10/$10 in yoru Carson's ad if I were you.l
Kohl's, open 4 a.m. Friday-midnight: $10 Kohl's cash for every $50 spent, in store or online through Sunday. Fisher-Price, Playskool, Barbie, Crayola and other toys are 50% off through 1 p.m. Vivitar 10.1MP digital camera $59.99 through 1 pm (regular $129.99).

There are coupons for $10/$50 or $14/$75 on the back fo the circular, online or in store, but they're ONLY good Friday 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Sears is open at 4 a.m. and there is a $10/$50 coupon in the circular for Friday until noon only, that does not seem to exclude doorbusters. Doorbusters include a Kenmore washer and dryer for 55% off ($579.98 for both, normally that much or more each). Also, a 4.5-qt. KitchenAid standing mixer for $149.99 after INSTANT rebate, which I think is the lowest price I've ever seen. Regular $249.99.
Kmart opens at 6 a.m. and its doorbusters last until 11 a.m. Doorbusters include a Sony Bravia 32-inch tv for $379.99 and a Magellan Roadmate GPS for $84.99
World Market is giving out a free gingerbread house Christmas ornament while supplies last, no purchase necessary.
Menards is open at 6 a.m. and has fake Snuggies ("Cuddle Blanket") for $2.99. You can get a shop vac for $38.95 (and what man doesn't have THOSE dancing in his head on the night before Christmas?), which is $70 off. Also 18-oz. jar candles, assorted scents, for $1.87.
Lowes opens at 6 a.m. and has a Shop Vac for $29 (regular $79.97) and a 6.5-ft. prelit Christmas tree for $38 (was $98).
Best Buy is open at 5 a.m. They're advertising a Garmin Nuvi at half price for $99.99, and an off-brand digital camera ("Insignia") in pink or blue for $49.99, regular price $99.99.
Michaels is actually open Thanksgiving 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and opens Friday at 6 am. They have a coupon for 25% off your entire purchase for Thursday only. Then another 25% off coupon for Friday 6 a.m. to noon only. Also a coupon for $5/$25, $10/$40 or $20/$70. All those coupons exclude doorbusters, though. Doorbusters include 50% off Christmas trees and 70% off holiday ribbon.
Home Depot opens at 6 a.m. and you can get a 99-cent poinsettia (normally $3.98) and a 7-foot LED Christmas tree for $49 (was $129).
Walgreens already has its Black Friday deals going (except a few items like 50-cent bags of M&Ms after coupon and Register Reward). Check out what I got on my earlier post and see the freebie list on Common Sense With Money.
CVS has lots of freebies (14, according to Common Sense With Money), and they are on offer all weekend, although they might have already been cleaned out. I will probably check out a Milwaukee-area store tomorrow.

Hey Carrie - I don't have a CVS flyer. Do the deals for this weekend say "No Rainchecks" or are they offering them? If so, I am definitely going to stop in and pick up what I can. I love to have CVS rainchecks on hand for Free After ECB stuff to add to a purchase later one when trying to use a $/$$ coupon. Thanks!
