Sunday Flyers 9/7 -- Labor Day Sales
I have never understood exactly WHY there are no coupons in the Sunday inserts on holiday weekends, but that's how it is. So don't go out and buy an extra papers today.
There are deals in the flyers, though. Theoretically because of Labor Day there should be more sales. Well, let's see.
Yep. Here are the LABOR DAY SALES:
Toys R Us is having a sidewalk sale today and Monday only, with a bunch of toys and Crayola products at 50% off and a free ice cream sandwich with any purchase of $20 or more. They're also advertising a "Trade-In Event": get 20% off a car seat, stroller, travel system, high chair, play yard, bassinet or crib from participating brands when you bring in a used item from any of those categories, any brand. Since those items typically sell for pennies on the dollar used, it should be easy to come up with a really junky old one for a 20% discount. That deal runs through 9/20. Then there are the typical store coupons in the flyer too, for $4 off formula, $2 off baby bagth products, etc.
Jo-Ann's Labor Day sale includes half off and buy one, get one for a bunch of stuff including foam by the yard and fleece, and then there's a coupon in the flyer for 10% off total purchase including sale stuff. Good Sunday and Monday only; the online promo code is NGSE250.
Michaels has a coupon for 50% off any regular price item, Sun or Mon only, in addition to its usual 40% off coupon. Lots of stuff on sale for 40% or 50% off as well.
Bed Bath & Beyond is having its semi-annual storewide clearance, with savings up to 50% off original retail. There's a 20% off a single item coupon in today's paper, and it says if you sign up for email updates you'll get another one of those coupons in your inbox.
Office Depot's Labor Day sale includes doorbusters today and Monday, like 100 sheets of photo paper for a dollar (after rebate), or a ream of multipurpose paper for $1 (also after rebate).
OfficeMax is still offering discounted school supplies, like a ruler for a penny, composition books for 75 cents, filler paper for a quarter, and markers for a quarter per pack (limit 3).
Famous Footwear has a sale: "buy one pair, get second pair 1/2 off," plus there's a coupon in the flyer for an additional 20% off entire purchase. Get those gym shoes! (I'm holding out for the Sept. 26 consignment sale in Oak Park to shop for mine; that's what a mean mom I am.)
Macy's has a booklet with a 15% off all-day "pass" for today or tomorrow, and Carson's has coupons for 10-20% off single items.
Sears and The Great Indoors (part of Sears) are having twin sales: 15% off major appliances, 20% off Energy Star, plus 5% off w/ Sears card, plus no interest until Oct. 2010 or free delivery. This is through 9/12. Sears says the extra 5% is only through Tuesday, though. Sears also lists a bunch of stuff on sale through Tuesday only, including an elliptical workout machine for $399.99 ($300 off).
RadioShack's Labor Day sale (through Monday only) includes a Toshiba laptop for $549.99, $100 off.
Menards is having a tool sale through next Sunday.
The Normal Every Week Sales:
Jewel has more of those manufacturer's coupons in the flyer (the same ones it published Wednesday), whch is very handy if you're heading over to Dominick's where hot dogs are buy one, get one, or to Target where the Kraft cheese is regularly priced at around $1.50, making two 8 oz. packages $1 each after coupon. Also Jewel has butter for $1.77 through Monday, and sweet corn at 5/$1. Oh, and 12-packs of Miller, Bud or Corona bottles are $9.99, with an extra $2 savings with in-store coupon if you buy two 12-packs of Bud Light Lime. Why you would want to do that, I don't know.
Dominick's has a new store coupon in today's flyer: 99 cents for a pack of Kraft singles. Sadly, it can't be combined with the $2/2 from the Jewel flyer because there's a limit of one per transaction.
Target has baby stuff and storage stuff on sale. There's a new Huggies $5 gift card offer, for two boxes of Huggies at $18.99 (around 92 size 1 diapers per pack), for about 20.7 cents per size 1 dipe. They will give you a $10 gift card for two boxes of "Cruisers Premium Absorbancy" 72-96-count, or "Swaddlers Sensitive," 109-126-count, at $29.99 each. That comes out to about 22 cents per size 1 diaper. Using coupons you could get these offers down to 13 cents a diaper for the Huggies (two $3/1 manufacturer's and two $1.50/1 Target Qs -- are these still good?), or 20 cents per Pampers (with two $2/1 manufacturer's coupons), neither of which is not as good as the Huggies I got recently at 11.5 cents each. Apparently these Pampers cost more because they are fancy shmancy premium dipes. Whatever. Baby Cheapskate has more details on the baby sale. Target also has a coupon this week for a $10 gift card with prescription transfer. And see a summary of all Target deals at Stretching a Buck.
Kmart has another $5/$50 coupon, but who wants to go there now that Super Doubles are over?
CVS's ExtraBucks offers include Dove chocolates -- spend $10, get $5ExtraBucks. There were $1/1 coupons in the 8/16 RedPlum, so if you buy 3 bags of that at $3.50 each, with 3 coupons, you'd spend $7.50 and get $5 back. $2.50 for 3 bags (about 9 oz.). Nice. See all the CVS deals (including free Schick disposable razors and Crest toothpaste) at Money Saving Mom.
Walgreens has an offer that could result in free ice cream if you have enough coupons: "spend $15 on Starbucks (ice cream, bottled drinks or bag coffee)," get $5 Register Rewards. If you have five $2/1 ice cream coupons from the 8/9 RedPlum, you could buy five pints @ $3 each, pay $5 after coupons and get $5 back. Or if you have that free Starbucks ice cream coupon from Facebook (no longer available), or the $1/1 printables, those would all result in nice deals too. See My Frugal Adventures for the rest of the Wags deals this week.
There's a sheet of Steak N Shake coupons including a couple for free shakes if you buy one.
