Target Diaper Deal

I've been frustrated that it doesn't appear that the Boxtops Catalina that ends today at Jewel includes size 1 or 2 diapers (or if it does, not in the size box that made it the best deal). But I just got back from Target where I got a comparable deal on the Huggies size I need: I got two Big Boxes for $22 each after coupons and gift card. There are 192 size 1/2 diapers per box, making the dipes 11.5 cents each. Since Baby Cheapskate says the price to beat is 17 cents a diaper, and according to Krazy Koupon Lady size 2 at CostCo are 16 cents apiece, this is an awesome deal.

The offer I took advantage of was "buy 2 boxes @ $28.99 each, get a $5 Target giftcard." Here's how I got the price down to $22 each:

  $28.99

-    3.00 Huggies manufacturer's coupon (printables, hurry and print before the month ends and they put up new ones)

-    1.50 Target store coupon (this beeped but cashier pushed it through)

-     2.50 (1/2 the $5 gift card)

22.00

Hooray, now I have about 10 weeks worth of disposable diapers on hand for my infant, at which point I'm hoping I'll have my groove back enough to switch to mostly cloth for him. It would help if the 2-year-old would get her butt out of diapers by then. If you know anyone with pull with the Potty Training Gods, please put in a good word for me.

By the way, I still have a handful of Huggies coupons on hand, which I'm hoping to use if I run across any of the old labeled diapers on clearance. Turns out Huggies recently switched some of their variety names, so if you see the old "Gentle Care" out there instead of the new "Little Snugglers," you might want to do a price scan to see if it's on clearance. I checked a few at Target and Jewel today without any luck.
