One of the great things about the BlogHer conference is that marketers are really keyed into the female blogger demographic, and they are showering us with free products, coupons and contests here. There are a few things I can share with you here, and the rest of my list will just serve to make you coupon- and freebie-lovers jealous:
COUPON CODES:
- BlueAvocado sells gro paks, which are kits of shopping bags, including a produce bag and all the other bags you'd need for your groceries, all wrapped up into one handy pack. Through August 15, use the code goodkarma40 at checkout to get 40 percent off.
- Order a Leapfrog Tag at Leapfrog.com and enter the code BHTAGJ9 to get 20% off.
CONTESTS:
- Log on at ReadyGoPlayDoh to register to win a $5,000 playroom makeover and a $5,000 school donation.
- If you have a blog or if you Twitter or whatever, send or blog the link www.blueavocado.com/billion, which will lead your followers/readers/fans to a page where they can pledge to help eliminate plastic bags. Have them enter the name of your blog on the pledge page, and the bloggers who accumulate the most pledges by July 30 will win a free gro-pak.
- Go to Strawberryshortcakedvd.com/win to enter to win a basket full of Strawberry Shortcake goodies including an Astar 3100 DVD player and a copy of the new Strawberry Shortcake Movie.
FREE DONATION AND A CHANCE AT A GRANT: Apply for a Quaker Go Grant to start a project that combats hunger in your community. Or enter your UPC code from any package of Quaker Oats, Quaker Instnat Oatmeal, Quaker Oatmeal Squares, Quaker Life Cereal or Quaker Chewy Granola Bars at the same site, through 12/31/09, and Quaker will donate 10 servings of Quaker products to Share Our Srength, up to 1 million servings. (By the way, I sampled a Quaker Oats non-alcoholic mudslide at the Quaker booth, which I thought would be gross and sludgy but was actually quite good.)
STUFF THAT I GOT THAT I CAN'T SHARE: Sorry folks, but I can't spread the love with this stuff. I got a coupon for a free Ragu product, a free Green Works cleaning product, $2/1 on any Johnson's fragrance-free baby lotion (finally, Johnson's!), a free medium McCafe coffee at McDonald's, a free Tide Stain Release product, and $2/1 All Detergent. I am LOVING the free product coupons for use during Catalina deals or to jack up my total in CVS transactions where I'm trying to use a $10/$50 coupon. As for actual product samples, I got a Mrs. Potato Head, a full size can of eos shave cream and an eos organic lip balm (I love lip balm!), an All Free Clear sample (fragrance free, hooray) and an All Small & Mighty sample a Tide Stain Release In-Wash Booster sample, a Quaker True Delights bar, some Sun Chips, a toy ladybug from Playskool, some crayons, a plastic cup from a site about aging called GilbertGuide, two thumb drives for my computer (a fancy one from Ann Taylor and a bracelet one from Michelin, an ethernet cable from BlogHer, a Tag Reading System book from LeapFrog, two canvas grocery bags from Green Works, a box of tea from Earth Mamas and Angel Babies, a Wiggles CD from Sprout, some kiwis and some plastic spoon/knives from Zespri kiwi fruit, two little Play Doughs, a sample of Green Works laundry detergent, some kind of lollipop from All (I think it's a lollipop, hope it's not actually detergent), and some Starbucks Via instant coffee from @mudslidemama Jennifer Miner.
Whew! Good thing I brought the stroller today to haul all this stuff home. Thanks to all the sponsors who shared the swag!
