As harsh as that might seem, with only 9 regular season games to play and a third of the regular season already finished, Week 4 really becomes the week where we see some serious moves up and down.
Several teams have "surprised" this season and are sitting with 3-0 records.
3-0 Glenbard North and head coach Ryan Wilkens always comes ready to play, yet are the Panthers better than we all thought outside of say Carol Stream?
Proviso West is 3-0 for the first time in school history, yet the Panthers will find out starting tonight at home against York (2-1) exactly what they are all about as a team.
St. Viator is 3-0 and can the Lions win on the road at the Beach, otherwise known as Joliet Memorial Stadium against a better than you think JCA squad?
Marian Catholic is 3-0? No one deserves at least one more deep run than veteran head coach Dave Mattio, but those last four weeks of the regular season are going to be brutal for the Spartans. They better be cooking up something special over the the Heights to survive Naz, Viator, JCA and Marist.
Johnsburg? The Skyhawks are 3-0 and have a talented tight end in CJ Fiedorowicz and a passing attack that is very solid. Yet can this team beat someone with an above .500 record?
Basically everyone knows that both Cary-Grove and Crystal Lake South are supposed to be undefeated heading into it's Week 8 Super Bowl Matchup, so seeing these two at 3-0 is no great surprise, but Huntley at 3-0? Didn't the Red Raiders get the memo that they lost everyone to graduation last spring?
On the flip side, will anyone win 5 games this season from the Metro Suburban?
Is TF South really 1-2 and TF North is 3-0?
Will 3-0 Oak Forest bring a much needed test tonight to 3-0 Lemont? Or will the Indians run past the competition in the South Suburban Blue?
Does 2-1 Shepard really have a chance against 2-1 Oak Lawn Richards?
Can 2-1 Minooka get a big win at home against a very good 3-0 Plainfield South?
Again, Week 4 remains a definite turning point in the regular season as we seek more answers to filling out the playoff puzzle.
