The Latest on Milton Bradley

Don't shoot the messenger! Here is the latest on Milton Bradley and a possible return to the Texas Rangers where he played in 2008 before he signed with the Cubs. There are a ton of rumors regarding Bradley and where he may end up and most of them are untrue. However, these one appears to at least be up for discussion.

One thing is for sure. Milton Bradley will not return to the Cubs in 2010. Here are some other Cubs notes from the Breaking Sports News Center at the Chicago Tribune. More to come later in the day. Have a great day! Kap

Kap,

Milton Bradley may not be a Cub in 2010, but Hendry should stay much longer than just next year. Here's why

I think Hendry should go for all the reasons you point out.
Except for the Lee/Ramirez acquisitions of course. Something I always gave Hendry credit for. But the "big fish" argument?? Soriano, Fukodome?? BAD. Developing talent? Randy Wells, good yes but was more of a coincidence than part of Hendry's plan and the jury is still out on Wells as it is on Soto, in fact Soto has a good a chance of being a bust than a talent. Theriot? GOOD player, not an OUTSTANDING talent and it took him too long UNDER THE HENDRY WATCH to leap frog...NEFI PEREZ for crying out loud.
Hendry not going anywhere is a bad thing for us Cubs' fans.

Hendry had a terrible 08-09 off season, but I'm willing to give him some leeway. Of course, when it comes to getting the best value for the money spent, Hendry is one of the worst GMs in baseball.

Ryno, so you're willing to give one of the worst GM's in baseball when it comes to getting value....some leeway? Just in case he gets lucky? Then you would have to also give one of the "average" GM's out there looking for a job the same leeway, right? Since an average GM at getting value would be better than Hendry's "worst" GM status??? However you slice it and dice it, Hendry is lucky to still have his job and I don't think there would be a major outcry if the Ricketts brought in say Steve Stone to replace him. Or Kap even!! I'd go to war with either of those two, I've grown real tired of Hendry's way of operating.
