I'm waiting to hear from the baseball god. What does stoney have to say?

Did you hear what his arrogancy said on CTL the other day?
He continually proclaimed that Carlos Zambrano has "averaged 13 wins a year" and is "A 13 win pitcher" over and over. When the fact of the matter is, since becoming a full time major leaguer, Zambrano has won as few as 13 games only once. His 162 game average according to baseball reference is 15 wins. Yet, the genius decided to lie about it, and other things, for some reason on live TV. Sad thing is, some of the slower fans go to that bitter hack for knowledge.
Of course, nobody on the panel had the integrity to call him out on it.
Guess we know why he never got one of those 30 or so front office jobs he's been lobbying for the past 25 years.

Let's remember that using Wins as your primary basis for evaluating a pitcher's quality is flawed in the first place, as it's dependent on many factors, not the least of which is how good a team a pitcher happens to be on. Of course, since Stone is only the second-to-last guy to record 25 wins in a season, he's free to disregard the work of Tippy Martinez, Sammy Stewart and Tim Stoddard--guys who helped lead the other members of Baltimore' staff to 20 (McGregor), 16 (Flanagan) and 16 (Pamer) wins that season--in helping him achieve such a dependent and arbitrary figure.
Stoney has become so utterly insufferable.

stone won 107 games in 11 seasons, which makes his average 9.72 wins per year. Not quite HOF material. Just a smug, biiter old man, not a baseball genius.

Nobody on the panel ever disagrees with the great Stoney because he has them swallowing all his B.S They put him on a pedestal when all he does is spout his bitterness and everyone falls for it because in the eyes of the media he can do no wrong when in reality he is a nobody and that is why he never has gotten a front office job on a team because it would expose him as the fraud that he really is

Hey Kap- I can't vote for any of those because I have someone else in mind. And I said it before Gregg got rocked in those consecutive games: Rich Harden. Here's what I wrote about it: http://bit.ly/xHz4b

Something that I've been thinking about is whether or not Rich Harden could be converted to a closer. He has great stuff but he can't pitch over 5 innings. Any thoughts?

Finally, Cubs fans who acknowledge Steve Stone's bitterness, whininess and complete hatred of Cubs management.
On the Rich Harden as closer topic, not sure I agree. If he could just trim his pitch count a little, he could give a team6-7 solid innings. Until he gets hurt again he is too valuable as a starter.
I like Guzman as closer. He obviously has the "stuff" and his walks are down this year. His velo was down yesterday though, so that might be a sign that he can't pitch too often, not sure.

Mark Buehrle has averaged 14.75 Wins in his 8 full big league seasons. Zambrano has averaged 15.2. I mean if you even wanted to compare a simpleton stat like pitcher's Wins, somebody should have thrown that right back at him. But I guess David Haugh and Phil Rogers aren't really the ones to engage in intelligent, argumentative banter.
Brandon Webb has averaged 14.5. Johan 16.3. Peavy 13.3. Halladay 16.1.
How dumb is Steve Stone?
