The Tigers Have No Interest in Bradley

So this afternoon Steve Stone sends out a Tweet on his baseballstone@twitter account saying that the Tigers are interested in Cubs RF Milton Bradley. I hear from a baseball agent who says the same thing and then after Stone's post hits the internet and I put the rumor on my blog all hell breaks loose.

So let's review what I posted this afternoon. The headline of the post says "Can it be? Are the Tigers after Milton Bradley? The post talks about the rumor and ends this way:  I will be working my baseball sources for more on this rumor but if it is indeed true the Cubs need to make that deal ASAP!

So from that post and Stone's Twitter everyone jumps to the conclusion that the deal is imminent. After talking with various people around the Cubs and Tigers we find out that the deal is simply just a rumor and is not going to happen. In fact, Stone even Tweeted from Detroit that Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski said he wouldn't want Bradley on his team.

So how did a rumor which happens all of the time take off so quickly? Perhaps because people are so desperate to see Bradley in another uniform they ran with a rumor that it turned out had no substance to it. Whatever the reason is it really doesn't matter. The Tigers aren't interested in trading for Milton Bradley and it appears he will be the Cubs RF for the forseeable future.

My lord take some responsibility for what you put out there. Your hysteria in this post is on a par with the hysteria in your previous post. YOU put a rumor out there that turned out to be false and then blame people for talking about it? What is the point of your job if not to get people talking about things? You said this, "Both sources say that the Tigers have scouted Bradley and are interested depending on how much of his contract the Cubs are willing to eat." You also said, "if it (the rumor) is indeed true the Cubs need to make that deal ASAP!" Don't you see how that feeds the frenzy? Without even knowing what the potential deal might have been you tell the Cubs that they have to make it ASAP.

In this post you speculate, "So how did a rumor which happens all of the time take off so quickly? Perhaps because people are so desperate to see Bradley in another uniform they ran with a rumor that it turned out had no substance to it." Really? Are you serious? A rumor that YOU were the second person to propagate turns out to be false and YOU find fault with people running with it? Yes a lot of people are desperate to see Bradley in another uniform and based on the end of your first post regarding the rumor YOU are one of them. And you being one of those desperate to see Bradley gone and having an audience help create and feed that desperation.

Do you want to know why alternative media is gaining ground on the mainstream media? It's because of hacks like you. You have no objectivity. You push your personal agenda. You take no responsibility for what you report.

But really you should be happy that this rumor ran rampant because now you and this website are known to a heck of a lot more people than before.

The main problem is your "hero whorship" of the bitter old Stoney.

His latest tweets are just as meaningless. If I were you I'd Dombroski about what he said. I think Stone is just a plain LIAR and should be run out of town. NO ONE in baseball respects this POS and there is no hope of the Ricketts group even considering this jerk for anything.
Stone is an embarrassment and Kap, your friend Stone is lying garbage.

I'm as surprised as anybody that anyone actually thinks you know anything.

What I'm curious about is why you didn't ask Jim Hendry about it. You were in the press box today, right? Hendry was next door, right? Just ask him. He'll either deny it, and you can report that, or he'll give you an answer that even short of confirming your rumor would give you an idea of whether this was potentially true. But by all accounts, you didn't make that effort.

But don't worry. You won't be in this position any time soon. Because now nobody will believe you.

Hey Kap, did Bob Brenley make-up any bogus rumors pertaining to the Sox the way their color guy did for the Cubs?

Oh wait, that's right, Bob isn't obsessed with the Sox the way Stone is with the Cubs.

Stone doesn't rip on the Sox because Kenny Williams will kick his butt and Jerry will fire him. He's pathetic.

How did I know I would read your blog today and find some pathetic excuse for your idiotic blog regarding Milton Bradley yesterday. Who are these sources you're always referring to? Get new ones. And own up to what you're posting on here.

Kap, I don't know if you read the comments people leave to your blog, but you really took a beating on the Bradley story. You also took a beating about repeating things said by Steve Stone. First, we love you at our house, but you do ned to own up to responsibility for the Bradley. Most of us consider you a wellinformed source and were exstatic when we read your blog about the possibility of moving Bradley. Hey you started the rumor.

Candidly, I have to agree with many comments about Stoney. he's bitter about being fired by the Cubs and is now a Sox homer. I turn the station when he come on and would rather listen to Brenley, Hollinsworth, Moreland, Plesack, or you anyday.
