Jeff Baker is in....Ryan Freel is Out

The Cubs have made a roster move today, acquiring utility infielder Jeff Baker from the Colorado Rockies for a minor league pitcher. In a corresponding roster move the Cubs have designated IF-OF Ryan Freel for assignment. The 28 year old Baker has been on the DL since April 29 with a sprained left hand and was activated off of the 60 day DL today. Freel  has struggled mightily in his time with the Cubs and batted just .143 (4 for 28) with one run scored and one RBI in 14 games with Chicago.

we traded a healthy do-nothing guy for an unhealthy do-nothing guy and trade that unhealthy do-nothing guy for yet another unhealthy guy. At this rate that way Hendry's been (panic) dealing I say Baker will end up doing nothing.
