1. Josh Vitters, 3B (Peoria) - Coming off a strong 2008, he is hitting .311 with 3 HR in the Midwest League.
2. Andrew Cashner, RHP (Daytona) - 2008 first round pick given up just one earned run in nine innings.
3. Jeff Samardzija, RHP (Iowa) - Didn't command his pitches too well with Cubs, but coaches liked what they saw. They want to work him primarily as a starter so he'll report to Iowa.
4. Chris Archer, RHP (Peoria) - Shutting down his opponents thus far with a 1.13 ERA and 26 strikeouts. They may be monitoring his innings, he has only made it to five innings twice.
5. Ryan Searle, RHP (Daytona) - 19-year-old pitcher from Australia, Searle is dominating hitters so far following a dominating 2008. He is relatively unknown to the league, so we'll see if he can make the proper adjustments. So far, he has.
6. Jay Jackson, RHP (Tennesse) - 9th-round pick last year coming off two strong starts in Double-A. 1 ER in last 14 innings.
7. Ryan Flaherty, INF (Peoria) - Natural lefty swing, great eye for the strike zone. Hitting just .261 but has walked 16 times.
8. Rafael Dolis, RHP (Daytona) - Has some control issues, but has started to show signs that it is improving.
9. Chris Carpenter, RHP (Peoria) - Coming off a bad start, but threw 17 scoreless innings over three starts.
10. Greg Reinhard, RHP (Iowa) - Off to good start in Iowa following a good finish in 2008. Could see time in bullpen if needed, but possible September call up. Holding hitters to .197 batting average.
