Summer weekends in Chicago are always busy, and this weekend is no exception.

Actually, it IS an exception because this weekend is exceptionally busy:

Lollapalooza in Grant Park.

Bud Billiken Parade on the South Side.

White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians.

Chicago Bears Family Day at Soldier Field.

Iowa Cubs playing Sunday at Wrigley Field.

And all your regular neighborhood fests, etc.

Lollapalooza: The CTA will provide more frequent service for the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express route to get people home between 9 and 11 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Of course, the Blue, Red, Brown, Pink, Green and Orange line trains will all get you close to Grant Park. There's no Blue Line work, and longer trains will operate later on the Red, Blue, Brown, Green and Orange Lines. More info here.

Jackson and Balbo will be closed between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive for the weekend. Thus, the following buses will be rerouted: #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #26 South Shore Express, #X28 Stony Island Express and #130 Museum Campus routes will be rerouted to adjacent streets. Be sure to allow extra travel time. You wouldn't want to miss Depeche Mode or The Killers.

Bud Billikin Parade is Sunday, but King Drive will be closed between 35th and Garfield beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday. The parade will start at 10 a.m. Sunday and run until about 4 p.m. Additional buses will run for the #3 King Drive, #55 Garfield, #15 Jeffrey Local, #43, #47 and #4. The parade route create lots of reroutes and headaches. Get more details here.

White Sox and Iowa Cubs games. The Red and Green lines serve U.S. Cellular as usual, but expect more crowds, especially on the Red Line with the Iowa Cubs playing Sunday at Wrigley. Again, allow extra time.

Chicago Bears Family Day. The Bears will practice at Soldier Field at 10 am Saturday. The CTA says: "More frequent service will operate on the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus route between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Extra capacity will be provided on the #130 Museum Campus, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Customers also can travel to Soldier Field via Red, Orange or Green line trains and exit at Roosevelt. The station is located at Roosevelt and State, a few blocks west of the stadium.

You're on your own for getting to your favorite neighborhood festivals. Have fun, and keep safe.
