Tommy Harris, the Bears overpaid defensive tackle is a bum. A jerk. He's also selfish. In the biggest game the Bears have played this year he gets tossed out roughly 45 seconds after the coin toss for slugging Arizona tackle Deuce Lutui.

It is a damn shame that NFL rules don't allow the McCaskeys -- jeez, when was the last time I was in their corner? -- to fine Harris his full game salary. If I'm Jerry Angelo I've got two options for Harris when his roster bonus comes due in March: shove off or shove it.

Meanwhile, Tommy Boy isn't the only culprit. The Bears lack of energy on defense was a disgrace to the most storied franchise in pro football.

Hey Bears fans, don't get conned by the final score. The big red didn't win 41-21. They really prevailed by a count of 34-7. Jay Cutler tossed a couple of fourth quarter, consolation prize touchdowns after Arizona boss Ken Whisenhunt told his team it was fine to zip to the team bus when he lifted Kurt Warner much too early to give Matt Leinart some reps.

Trust me. The mild cheers that emerged from Soldier Field when the Bears cut the gap to 34-10 weren't a demonstration of love for Jay Cutler rifling a TD strike to Greg Olsen. Oh no, these were fans clapping with glee because the two clubs had just topped the "over."

Zach Zaidman, the WBBM sideline reporter, showed true reportorial brilliance after the game while cozying up to Cutler. Zaidman, for reasons unknown to any logical thinking human being, brought up the officiating. Yep. That's a normal and reasonable topic when your defense has just allowed 438 yards and five touchdown passes.

No doubt about it, Zack. Blame the zebras.

Finally, didn't Sports Illustrated have our local heroes going to the Super Bowl? Just asking.

How soon does spring training arrive?
