Spend a Sick Day with Maria Bamford

user-pic

I've got a cold, but just because I'm feeling under the weather, that doesn't mean I can't watch some sick (as in ill) comedy.  I asked Adam Burke, Elizabeth McQuern, and Bryan Bowden to suggest their favorite sick day videos.  Here are their prescriptions for a feel better Youtube adventure:

Adam Burke recommends investing the time to "watch all 20 episodes of of Maria Bamford's brilliant 'Maria Bamford Show' that she made for Super Deluxe."  I couldn't agree more (nor could Elizabeth McQuern).  The episodes are all less than five minutes and packed to the gill with jokeage.  You'll be artistically inspired and you'll laugh out some of that pesky mucous.

Start with Episode 1:

Elizabeth McQuern suggests that you go the way of " weird cartoony stuff like Brad Neely."  I won't ever require convincing when it comes to watching cartoons, and I hadn't watched Brad's stuff in a while.  Definitely worth the revisiting.

Case in point, George Washington:

And finally, Bryan Bowden had the most diverse taste.  He passed along some Beavis and Butthead, a few low-budget rap videos that rocked it, including this one from Sudanese rapper Bangs, and this link to a Korean ice cream bar commercial that mesmerized the crap out of me.  What is going on here?  Why is she smacking her own butt?  Be amazed.  And get well soon!
