Crain's Chicago Business has been the leading source of news and insight on the city's economic scene for over 30 years.

We did it! We've officially made it halfway through winter. It went so fast, didn't it? But it's not over yet and Chicago still has plenty of great things for you to enjoy. We dug around and found 10 things definitely worth a go. Check them out!

  1. PREVIEW. Catch the previews of the six-hour, non-operatic theatrical interpretation of Richard Wagner's 16-hour opera cycle, THE RING CYCLE. The show is now in previews with the opening night, the gala and regular run taking place later this month. There is a dinner break during the show, when the audience is encouraged to picnic on the stage; a $10 boxed sandwich dinner will be available. Feb. 6, 3 p.m. and Feb. 7, 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 - $20. 412 N. Carpenter St., (312) 491-1369, www.buildingstage.com.

  2. DANCE. Have you longed for that rare opportunity to dance on the Jay Pritzker Pavilion stage? Or maybe you just need to fight cabin fever. Either way, head to the first installment of Millennium Park's DANCING AND ICE SKATING FEST. This weekend includes a Sock Hop and a tribute to Michael Jackson. Feb. 5, 7 p.m. - 11 p.m., ice dancing demonstrations, Feb. 6, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m., skating lessons, 1 p.m., dance lessons. Free. 201 E. Randolph St., (312) 742-1168, www.explorechicago.org.

  3. PARTY. Chicago is cold in the winter, but Le Passage is trying to heat things up by inviting Playboy Cybergirls including Jenna Jordan to its ARCTIC PARADISE event. The underground club will be lined in white and silver, and the champagne will flow. DJ Rock City will spin the tunes. Feb. 5, 10 p.m. Cover is $20. 937 N. Rush St., (312) 255-0022, www.lepassage.com.

  4. SIP. Learn the difference between several different kinds of scotch during the CITYSCAPE BAR FREE DEWAR'S DECISION TASTING. The blind tasting, which takes place on the 15th floor of the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, will include Dewar's 12 and White Label. Feb. 5, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Free. 350 W. Mart Center Drive, (312) 836-5000, www.martplaza.com.

  5. LISTEN. The Music Institute of Chicago's DUO-PIANO MINI-FEST will bring music to your ears with the Mack Sisters, Yuki and Tomoko Mack, tickling the ivories on Saturday. Sunday's concert is a tribute to Steinway of Chicago. Feb. 6, 7:30 p.m., Feb. 7, 3 p.m. Tickets are $20, $7 students, $15 seniors. 1490 Chicago Ave., Evanston, (847) 905-1500, ext. 108, www.musicinst.org.
