Chicago Blackhawks goal tending prospect Corey Crawford continues to recover from what is reported to be a lower body injury. IceHogs President/General Manager Mark Bernard stated during a live radio show on Monday night, that it would be an additional two weeks at least before Crawford would be allowed to return to the IceHogs active roster. According to Bernard, Crawford is suffering from a injury that has plagued him for quite some time, so they decided shut him down after the November 13, 2009 game to prevent further injury.
Crawford, 24, a second round (52nd overall) draft pick for the Blackhawks in 2003, hails from Montreal, QC, Canada. He currently is in his fifth professional season, having spent the first two seasons with the Norfolk Admirals and is currently in his third season with the IceHogs. On March 5, 2008 Crawford, while in goal for the Blackhawks, recorded his first NHL career shutout win against the Anaheim Ducks.
