Last night, I had the pleasure of joining @SamiAri (Sami Ari) as he hosted a tweetup with @TheWitChicago (TheRoof at TheWit Hotel). I love meeting new people and the combination of my love for social media with my photography only made the event that more exciting! It was nice to see face-to-face my followers of whom I've only known through a 24x24 photo!
Chrisette Michele Afterparty @ Crimson Lounge
Chrisette Michele was in town last night to perform in concert at the House of Blues. I've covered her a few times before, so didn't attend the concert, but from what I hear, she put on a good show. I even heard that the performers that opened for her (LadyTe and Laura Izibor) were great.
I went straight to the afterparty put on by the good people at enFullaffect Marketing & The Synergy Project to snag some photos and I think that Crimson was caught off guard with the weather because it felt like the heat was on full blast! I'm a cool cat, so it didn't phase me much, but after a *long* while, patrons started to fade out and head home.
It was their loss, because although the party, music and drinks (tip your bartenders) were great...it was amplified by the inclusion of Chrisette's arrival. I grabbed my normal shots and was on my way out the door...then I hear (from outside Crimson) Chrisette's voice!! SHE WAS SINGING!! LIVE!! I did a double take and blasted back into the room to snap some performance photos! Glad I did...check out the photos!
