A series of violent outbreaks in a women's soccer game

I'm sure many of you have already heard about New Mexico's Elizabeth Lambert, but in the event that you haven't this video is certainly worth watching. A shirt tug here and there is to be expected in a competitive game of soccer, but what happens when it comes down to ponytail tugs and back punches? I suddenly recall the voices of soccer parents nationwide as they would annoyingly shout, "referee, where are your glasses!?"

yeah, it's terrible...

i'm really interested to find out what steps will be taken next with the girl, new mexico coaching staff & the referee(s).

j, do you know of any sports instances like those above that have ended up in assault cases with the police? does that sort of thing ever happen?

I've heard of assault cases being brought in hockey and baseball. A Cubs minor leaguer was tried this summer for throwing a baseball into the stands. So it happens. The thing is I'm sure that thing happens sometimes but the girl just happened to get caught on tape, right?
