Stanley Cup pizza now exists. More specifically, the 2010 Stanley Cup finals Chicago Philly cheese deep steak dish pizza thing now exists, and all as a result of ChicagoNow Radio. What is Stanly Cup pizza and what does it have to do with ChicagoNow Radio, you ask? I'll tell you.

Remember when Alex Quigley and I had Joe Campagna the Chicago Food Snob on ChicagoNow Radio on Memorial Day weekend? If not (or if you do remember and want to enjoy it again) listen to his segment at WGN Radio's archives of the show. I'll wait right here.

Right. So, In that segment, Campagna discussed with us Quigley's idea for the 2010 Stanley Cup pizza: a Chicago-style deep dish pizza with Philly Cheesesteak toppings. We discussed options: provolone slices or full-on Cheez-Whiz? Tomato sauce? Or no? Well, as a result of Campagna's culinary expertise (and-- yes, I dare to go here-- his good sense to roll with a thin crust for crying out loud), this beast of a food is now real. And, for as much as I winced as we discussed it, this creation actually seems like it would be quite good. However, as Campagna said in an email, "It was tasty but since I'm superstitious I won't be making it again until the series is over!"  F'reals, Food Snob. For. Reals.

We'll have the line up for Saturday's show posted for you here in the next day or two. In the meantime, give us a shout on the ChicagoNow Radio Facebook page, follow @AlexQuigley and yours truly (@AmyGuth) on Twitter (and @ChiFoodSnob, too while you're at it), and catch up on any show segments you may have missed in the WGN ChicagoNow Radio archives.
