Yes,
most of you know that I love accessories, but this may be a choice
that I don't personally embrace. Of course we know that sheer clothing is one of
the trends for fall/winter so maybe this is our chance to play Lady Gaga
or Madonna! Okay, so you can't sing or dance, but we do admire Venus
De Milo in all her glorious nudity, so what's wrong with tastefully showing a
little nipple accessory? Jewelry designer Leah Ball had embraced nipple adornment in her own creative way as featured above.
Nipple adornment always cause a bit of a stir when celebrities are either rumored to have them or are bold enough to show them! Rihanna and Christina Aguilera are frequently spotted in less-than-opaque tops to reveal their nipple bling, while others are a little more clandestine about what might be hidden. Nicole Richie's airport security incident, she set off the metal detector, caused her a bit embarrassment... but as many followers of this trend prove, there is nothing to be embarrassed of when sporting this sexy little adornment!
Last weekend I took a trip to the Randolph Street Market, located at the 1350 block of West Randolph Street on the third weekend of each month through September, to see what I missed all last year. I was not going to let another summer pass without a stroll through the Indie Designer section inside the historic Plumblers Hall to check out what all the excitement is all about.
For those of you fashion lovers like me, Barbara Glass, I wanted to explore some of the jewelry, fashion, furniture, and interesting people that present their wares, along with the unique visitors... it's a great place for people watching! And did I mention that I fell in love with the most decadent and yummy handmade chocolates by Katerine Anne confections? Yes, in addition to being a fashionista, I am a chocoholic. The team of Stacy Rauba and Yutaka Fujita presented some fun items in handmade hot pads and beautiful fashion pieces in tops and bottoms. My traveling buddy for the day bought a silver ring that was designed by Rodrigo Nunez. Other vintage jewelry vendors included Tamara Wolff Designs, who was there with her daughter, as well as Juliet Jewelry, K-Fleye jewelry, Pam Corrick Yeterday's Glitz on Ruby Lane, Susan Elizabeth Designs, Bead of a Different Drum, and many others. One of the major fashion stars every year at the Indie show are the Double Stitch Twins, whose crochet pieces are a welcome addition to every woman's wardrobe.
It was a fun day and I would recommend that you don't exit until you try one of the chicken tamales. I know after you visit this great spot, the Randolph Street Market will no longer be a Best Kept Secret!

Blame
it on Paris Hilton but tea cup dogs (the ones that fit into your Chanel
or Gap bag) and larger are all the rage as an added accessory. Visiting Palm Springs this past week I couldn't help but notice that I
couldn't walk less than a few feet before I saw dogs, dogs, and more
dogs! From the flea market to the golf carts, people love their dogs.
No, I don't think they will ever replace sunglasses or bracelets, but
they sure are loveable...

The votes are in and big necklaces are here to stay! Whether you choose to rock a piece that makes a statement, literally or figuratively, this seasons next BIG accessory should be worn as a key element to your wardrobe. Many of these pieces even look as if they are part of the clothing. How fab!
Every blue moon, we all have bad
hair days! S,o what do we do? Well, we can always hide our hair under a hat, but why not opt for something more stylish? Barrettes, head scarves and
headbands are a great solution and accessory. Yes, I know that most of us
haven't worn a barrette since we were in grade school, but they can look cool
again. Why not try something new? Your hair will love you!
Wearing gloves has always been a fashion statement for
me.My mother never left the house
without gloves, even if she was just going to lunch with the ladies.(Of course, she also wore pantyhose in
90° weather because that was her definition of a lady.)Today gloves are taking on a new twist
and lucky for me, I have a large shoebox dedicated to my glove
collection.From Michael Jackson's
"one glove" to Michelle Obama wearing "the green gloves" (from Banana Republic) at the
inauguration--gloves are definitely "in" again for all the Chicago
fashionistas. I am a big fan of wearing fingerless gloves layered over fingered
gloves for a look that can be unique. Whatever you do, have fun with this accessory,
as there are so many choices this season.
