One of the things I like most about going to the movies is sharing the experience with whomever I'm with. Sometimes the follow up discussion is the best part. It was a bummer to see Ghost Writer alone. It was so good but there are a few twists and its an anticipation movie so mums the word until I find someone else who has seen it. (If you have hit me back and we can discuss). Ewan McGregor is hired to ghost write memoirs for the Former Prime Minister of Britain played by Pierce Brosnan. Pierce Brosnan is in a bunch of movies right now. Did you see him as the half man/half horse in Percy Jackson? Let's just say it was interesting!  McGregors character is replacing another writer who dies under questionable circumstances. He does some digging. The subject matter is current and relevant. The pace of this movie reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock North by Northwest. There were some interesting casting choices and I couldn't help wondering if only certain actors will work with Roman Polanski or if Roman Polanski being a bit removed from the Hollywood scene took chances on actors that others wouldn't consider. I loved the bald Jim Belushi. Could be a turning point for him. Kim Cattrall was great as the high powered secretary but she started the movie with an English accent and by the end of the movie it was gone. I hate that it's distracting. If you like a more shoot em up loud music movie this might not be the one for you. If you like a more psychological thriller than you will love this movie. GonF

Whats with these child stars? Fame is the only drug you need! Most know him from his recent reality show The Two Corys but he starred in many popular movies over the years. The Lost Boys, License to Drive, Lucas and Murphies Romance. I wonder if he will make it in to next years Oscar tribute....I know too soon. GonF

I know I know everybody has seen this already. I could'nt bring myself to watch it because I knew it was going to make me mad. And sad. This is really a great movie/doc to watch if you have any interest at all in what it takes to put on a large scale production or just like Michael Jackson. It's too bad the show will never be seen and its too bad Michael Jackson did'nt have one person in his life who could talk him out of doing something so stupid. What a waste!

Alice in Wonderland...I really wanted to like it!

And so did everybody else because it was the top grossing movie of the weekend and even beat Avatars first weekend numbers! I guess that says a lot about Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Alice and Wonderland was a total disappointment. I'm a huge fan of Mr. Depp and I try to give him the benefit of the doubt but it seems like lately he's fallen into the WHO AH trap. What's the WHO AH trap you ask? Remember when Al Pacino starred in scent of a woman and everyone feel in love with him screaming WHO HA in every movie for like 5 years. Depps Mad Hatter just seemed like more of the same. The actress who played Alice was well cast although she looks way too much like Qwenneth Paltrow. I hope she doesnt grow up to have a life style website but I digress. The movie starts with a flash back to Alice as a little girl having nightmares about a white rabbitt in a waistecoat. She has an ambitious and creative father. Present day she is a young woman about to become engaged to a swarmy Lord whom she does'nt love. She falls down the rabbitt hole just as she is asked to respond to his proposal. My assumption was that she would find her way and herself in Wonderland. Unfourtunatly the story stalls right there. Its odd that she has no recollction of being there before. She faces many challanges but it all seems disjointed. There are some good moments and visual effects that may make it worth seeing for younger viewers. The Chesire cat is really funny and Helena Bonam Carter is perfect as the Red Queen. Sorry Danny Elfman I knew that was you right away. I guess we will see if Alice has legs as they say in the biz.
