Modern Planters: Container Garden Idea 4

user-pic
Lately I've been focused on blogging about the utilitarian aspects of a garden, but a garden can be nothing more than ornamental if that better fits your lifestyle. Yesterday, I made a trip to Sprout Home, one of my favorite garden centers in Chicago, and came across some modern planters that would look at home in just about any urban garden.

Make sure to look around inside of Sprout Home because they have equally stylish containers for indoor plants and a cool selection of tropical and cacti and succulents plants.

I love the square wooden planter with the sqaure hole in the middle--very mod! :)

My favorite is the hourglass looking one. I want it even though it would not match my weedy garden.

My pitchfork recently broke (handle rotted off--unfixable), and my husband suggested just sticking the forks in the ground and planting something in the empty shaft. Clever. I always wish I had beautiful containers and then hard reality sets in-- those things are pricey. Back to the homemade wooden ones! As you say, the rough ones fit the sensibility of my "homemade" garden better anyway. No sense in having gorgeous containers sitting on the crumbling stoop.

LOL, I was thinking that maybe some fancy containers would detract from our stoop that need to be torn down and rebuilt.
