Chris Armas to be inducted into "Ring of Fire" Hall of Fame

It was announced yesterday that former Fire midfielder Chris Armas -- who played with the club from its inception in 1998 through 2007 -- will be inducted into the "Ring of Fire" Hall of Fame prior to Fire's October 22nd game against Chivas USA.

"As someone who once shared the pitch with Chris, I can say that he exemplifies the Fire's motto of Honor, Tradition and Passion," said Fire technical director and 2004 Ring of Fire inductee, Frank Klopas. "Chris is not only a former teammate, but a friend and I look forward to joining him on the field October 22 when he becomes a member of this great Fire tradition."

Armas, who is second on the all-time Fire assists list, is certainly very deserving of the honor of induction and the ceremony should be a good chance for Fire faithful to give him a nice send off.

Armas will join Peter Nowak, Frank Klopas, Bob Bradley and Peter Wilt in the "Ring of Fire."

I'll be at that game. I was at Chris's last at TP. He deserves this.

After the debacle over the induction of the elected ROF candidate(s) last year, I'm really curious as to the process of how Chris was chosen.

Don't get me wrong... Chris deserves it more than anyone. I just want to know how the selection process this year differed from the past.

I think you forgot to add Lubos Kubek (sp?) as a member of the Ring of Fire. I believe he was inducted with Peter Wilt. Chris is very deserving and as long as he is here, why not offer him a contract to be head coach the of the Fire next year. He can't do any worse than Hambone Hamlett.

I did forget to add Kubik to the list. My mistake on that one...

Could we get some info on the Fires search for a new director of sales, did they let go of Ryan or did his daddy help him get another position inside of Fire management.
