Another Beer Event

Matt Tunnell

Frisbee player, beer lover

And this one is free!  The West Town branch of Lush Wine and Spirits will be unveiling Ineeka's Organic Green Tea Bier and they'll be celebrating in style.  In addition to samples of the beer there will also be Ineeka infused cocktails made with spirits form Chicago's own Koval Distillery and tasty treats from Swim Cafe and Nice Cream.
Read about the Beer after the jump.
From the promotional materials:
"This revolutionary merging of two age-old brews brings a new appreciation to the world's oldest and most loved beverages: tea and beer. Our organic Belgian style ale gains its complexity from the addition of organic and biodynamic green tea grown on our own family farms in the Himalayas as well as a touch of fresh ginger to the familiar barley and hops to create a dynamically delicious brew. The result is a sweet and sensual nose, a well-balanced taste that reveals itself in layers with each sip, and a clean, lingering finish. Each bottle contains approximately one cup of antioxidant rich green tea, contributing both the subtle floral notes distinct of fine Darjeeling and the tannins that make this an exceptional choice with dinner. We are sure that even non beer enthusiasts will enjoy this bright refreshing ale for its subtlety, elegance, and ingenuity."
The description leaves a little bit to be desired, featuring the always informative term 'Belgian-style ale.'  However, if the beer is as bright and refreshing as they promise, I can see the green tea being a good match.  I guess we'll have to go to Lush tomorrow to find out.  The event runs from 5-8 PM on Friday 6/4 and it will be held at Lush's West Town location at 1412 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago.

Matt, I still check this blog almost every day and every day, I am disappointed by the lack of updates. I understand that you are all quite busy young fellas, but please, give me something to read at work.
