FINAL SCORE: Bears 6 Niners 10

Welcome to Bears Game Day! (I throw in the exclamation point because I'm trying to express excitement, which isn't easy these days).  My name is Mike Burzawa and I'm the lead blogger at Bear Goggles On, the Chicago Bears blog on the Fansided Sports Network.

My thanks to Julie from A League of Her Own for filling in for me last week.  Unless you've been living under a rock, you know what happened last week against the Cardinals.  It was worse than the score indicated.

The Bears are our in San Francisco to take on Mike Singletary's 49ers to open the NFL Network's Thursday Night Football 2009 schedule.  What that means is that unless you live in Chicago or San Francisco or you have the NFL Network, you will be spared from watching this game.

That's right, NFL rules require that unless you live in Jacksonville or Detroit (and can't sell out you the games), they must be offered on local TV.  Here in Chicago, the game will be on WPWR Channel 50.  On my Comcast cable, that's channel 184 for the Hi Def feed, because there's no other way to watch the Bears get humiliated than in 1080p.  Check your local listings.

If you're not in a local market, don't have the NFL Network or can't get out to a bar, maybe you're stuck with me.  I'll be providing live updates and commentary throughout the game.

I am not a trained shrink (nor do I play one on TV), but I've been taking a correspondence course on the web to help with Crisis Management, which has come in handy a few times this season.  Lots of folks have joining the discussion just to vent during these last few losses.  It helps.

Despite the miserable performance last week, I actually think the Bears can win tonight.  Check out my Keys to the Game to see how they can pull off the W.

Check back here before kickoff for any pre-game news and notes.   I'll have a Scoring Summary rolling after the jump so you can catch up with the scoring and be proving the commentary and in-game updates in the Comments section.
SCORING SUMMARY

Niners 7, Bears 0 on 1 play for 14 yards
Frank Gore's 14 yard run is set up by a 50+ yard INT return.  Cutler with 2 INT's already, so he's in his usual prime time form.

Bears 3, Niners 7

Robbie Gould hits a 50 yarder after a delay of game penalty.  It was that ugly.

Bears 6, Niners 7
5 plays for 34 yards
A stop on 4th and 1 and a great screen pass to Matt Forte set up the 38 yard field goal by Gould.  Have the Bears found something they're good at besides Jay Cutler interceptions?

Niners 10, Bears 6, 7 yards for 41 yards
Another Cutler INT and a great 3rd down conversion by Frank Gore set up a Nedney chip shot.  For those keeping track at home, Cutler has nearly as many INT's as the Bears have points.

Thanks to all for jumping into the discussion.  It was about as ugly as it gets for Cutler.  5 INT's are inexcusable.

The defense showed up and Cutler comes unglued.  UGH!  Thank God we've get the weekend off.

Watching some pre-game. Wale and Vernon Davis having a nice pre-game chat. Olin Kreutz comes over to pull Wale away. Olin playing peacemaker? What is this bizzaro world?

Something's gotta give tonight. Bears haven't won at the 'Stick since '86 - yes 1986 - and the Niners have lost the last 7 that Alex Smith has started.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Singletary looks very serious, as if he's gonna play. Bears will get the ball first. Niners won the toss but will defer. D Manning to bring it back. Here we go!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Bears taking over at the 18. Cutler hits Forte in the left flat to pick up a yard. Lawson pressured Cutler into an incomplete. He couldn't find anyone open. 3rd and 9. Crowd is into it. Chis Williams just got run over. Bull rushed onto his ass. Maynard will boot it away. Niners will take over at their own 40.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

They go after Tillman early. Crabtree tried to one-hand it but Tillman was in there to break it up. Samurai Mike will challenge. From my first look, it will be tough to overturn.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Looks like the ball was moving. Challenge failed. Bears 1 - Singletary 0.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Crabtree picks up 15 on a quick slant. Tillman whiffed on the tackle and Danieal Manning was manhandled. Here's the first look at Gore. He gains about 5 running up the middle. Niners give to Gore again and he picks up three. Stopped by Roach. 3rd and 2. Time to stop em. Alex Brown with a great jump off the ball. Did he get an early start? Good pressure but Smith converted the pass to pick up the first. Crabtree going off so far.

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Niners moving like a hot knife through butter...more crappy tackling to boot!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Vernon Davis just destroyed Nick Roach. Coming across the middle, he blew up Roach. Damn. I hate when people talk smack and back it up. Vernon Davis 1, Bears Front Seven -1.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Jamar Williams in for Roach, who left under his own power. Neutral zone infraction by Tommie Harris. On the bright side, he's still in the game. Niners with another first down, marching down the field. Niners give back the 5 yards with a false start on Vern Davis. Concentrate more, talk less trash.

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Gotta love that Matt Millen is still employable as a Analyst...he did such a wonderful job with Detroit(sucks)!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

No kidding! How can we take him seriously?

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Gore running behind Vern Davis picks up 8. Niners inside the 15. Crabtree dropped a slant that would've been a TD. 3rd and 7. Come on D - hold em to 3! Tommie Harris with a sack on pressure from Wale! Nice job D!!! Nedney misses the boot. Hooked it! Bears will take over! NICE!!!

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Nedney joins Reed and Mare as a victim of our "magic force field" FG defense...Wide right on a gimme FG attempt.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Maybe that's a good sign. Missed FG's = Bears wins!

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Mare and Reed hit the gimme FG's and we would be looking at 2-6 going into tonight!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Cutler hands to Forte for no gain. Running is a waste of time at this point. Singletary is fired up about the missed kick. Forte picks up 2 on another rush. Is Ron Turner running the same script from last week? I swear I've seen this before. Run, run, pass on 3rd and long. Cutler hits Olsen well short of the marker and he's not able to break free. Offensive game plan looks pretty awful.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Niners to take over at the 26 with Roach back in for the Bears. Gore picks up about 4. Gore gobbled up by Wale in the backfield for no gain. 3rd and 6 coming up. Let's go! Bears show blitz but Smith gets it out to Hill. Gonna be close to a first. About 6" short. Niners will punt to Hester. Let's go Dev - do it for Devin Jr! Hester was surrounded and there' a flag on the Bears for illegal block in the back to set up a nice long field for Cutler and the Bears offense. Time to open things up a bit.

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Running Forte without a Lead Blocker is as good as giving up! But the Bears do give him a FB for the third down run...converted.

night750 said:

way to come out fired up!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Cutler and the Bears take over at the 11. Bears come out with Olsen split out wide but hit Dez Clark underneath for about 7 yards. Forte with a little hop in the backfield and picks up about 2. 3rd and 1. We need a first down. Forte picks up the first on another rush. Bubble screen to Hester went right through his hands. Cutler hits Olsen out at the 38 to pick up 16 yards and another 1st down. Decent protection that time. Forte dives off the right tackle to pick up 2. Bears in a no-huddle. Cutler hits Olsen to pick up 20. Now the offense is moving. Olsen was WIDE OPEN. Cutler buys some time and hits his BFF Olsen for a few more. That wraps up the first quarter with the Bears marching.

TheFoss1957 said:

McKie with a good kick-out lead block, and the line finally opens a hole for 16 yds

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Cutler tries to hit Olsen to along the first sideline but he can't get his feet in. 2nd down from the 30. Knox is in and Forte with some nice running to pick up about 15. Nice spin move for a big gain. That's the Forte we all fell in love with. And on the next play, he's stuffed. Ah, the dreaded Red Zone, or as the Bears call it, the Dead Zone. Forte split out wide, but Cutler hits Bennett on the opposite side, but just short of the 1st. Cutler takes the keeper for a first down. 1st and goal to go from the 4. Forte picks up one of two. Not much going up the middle. Tight formation with McKie. Another dive up the middle for maybe 1 yard. Can we get creative here? Cutler picked off at the goal line! Another D-lineman picks off Cutler. YEESH! Who was he throwing to? DAMMIT JAY!!! What is it about night games?

CoachA2525 said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

Cutler is a dud!
INT at the GD two!!!!! THE GD TWO????

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Niners take over at the 11. Smith gets sacked by Marcus Harrison for a loss of 5. Vern Davis jumped early. Again Vern, talk less, concentrate more. Vern Davis false start meter = 2.

CoachA2525 said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

Also, I will just a wild stab at this but I will bet that the Offensive GURU that he is TURNER called a play specifically designed to throw the ball there. So Cutler, even though he should know better, probably had a play called for that specific pass.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Niners come out 3rd and 7. Smith scrambles and checks down to Gore. He puts his head down to barrel forward for the first down. Niners get some room to work. Smith with a little shovel pass to Gore to pick up 9 more. He was under pressure and just barely dumped it. Gore bottled up. It's going to be close to a first, depending on the spot. Smith is 7/9 passing early. Spot gives the first down. Roach busted in and deflected the pass and almost picked it off. That would've been awesome. Gore on the draw play to pick up 4. 3rd and 6. Millen comments on the good tackling by the Bears. Is that compared to his old Lions teams? Smith dumps it right into the middle of the zone to pick up a first. Behind the linebacker, in front of the safeties. Where have we seen this before? Zack Bowman picks off Alex Smith's bomb attempt! NICE PLAY!!!

Bears take over at the 19. Hester with a false start. That's a mistake made by a new dad. If you haven't heard, Devin welcomed D2 (Devin Jr.) this week. Congrats. Forte picked up 7, but it's coming back on a holding penalty on Hester. This is shaping up to be a bad series for Devin. Hester to the sideline to re-group. Cutler hits Forte to pick up 4.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Holy crap! The Bears ran a great screen pass. Forte picked up about 30 yards to move into Niners territory!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Correction, Forte picked up 37 on that last play. Kreutz with a key block and Beekman running downfield. Cutler with another INT on a Hester slip. Niners with a great return to set up a first and goal. Cutler with the shove out of bounds. Time to D up!

CoachA2525 said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

And now a fumble. This team is terrible!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Gore took it 14 yards for an easy TD and the Niners are up 7-0. Bears will take over with about 2 minutes left. Let's look on the bright side. This time on Sunday, they were down like 28-7. This is a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT! YAY for improvement!

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

I truly believe that the RT/Cutler combo is toxic...we need an OC that a. Uses plays to set up plays. and b. Believes in a balanced attack. RT calls plays like a 12 year old playing Madden 10.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Cutler nearly picked off again. Niners jumped Hester's route. WHEW! That was close. Forte picked up about 2. Clock running to about 1:25 left. Bears in no hurry. Surprised that SF didn't take a time out. Forte on another screen pass picks up a first down. Cutler hits Bennett over the middle out toward midfield. Bears take a time out. Great, we can set up for one of those momentum changing field goals to close out the half. Go Lovie! Go Turner! Go, seriously, and don't come back!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

0:37 left fro their own 48. Cutler's pass batted down. Cutler changing protections and they're hit with a delay of game. You know it's bad when Millen is calling you for poor clock management. Johnny Knox scampers around to get out of bounds and pick up about 11. Cutler hits Olsen for about 6. They burn their second time out with 20 seconds left. Screw it - go for the end zone!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Cutler slip a bit, but slips out and fires a dart toward Hester in the end zone. Overthrown a bit. Bennett picks up a pass interference for a short gain. They're out to the 36 or so. Hester gets out of bounds out to the 27 and they send in Gould. Gould's kick was good but they call another delay of game. WTF? Inexcusable! Now we have to try again but from 50. Gould for a fifty yarder! 2 seconds left leaves plenty of time for the Niners to score on our defense. Niners 7-3.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

It was an ugly half summed up best by 2 more Cutler INT's. Is he afraid of the dark? Maybe the Cubs should sign him since he can't play at night. Dammit! Defense is actually holding up pretty well, as we expected against an average to poor QB.

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Despite 200 yards of O by the Bears...that was a wretched half for both teams! Now for half-time adjustments. One coach, a fiery personality...and the other, unable to even comment on his team until he "takes a look at the film." Advantage 49ers!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Bears have actually done well with halftime adjustments this season. Actually held AZ to 10 2nd half points after getting lit up for 31 in the first. JC needs to get his head out of his ass and we'll be fine.

Boilermaker said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

Why oh why....we can't get 2 yards, while the 49ers can get 11 yards for a TD....why oh why???

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Because the Niners have a better running back.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

And a better line.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Halftime stats:
Cutler with 164 yards passing but 2 INT's.
Forte with 13 rushes for 36 yards but 5 catches for 57 yards.

Bears D holding Gore to 39 yards rushing and Smith to 72 yards passing with 1 INT.

Whoever wins the turnover margin in the 2nd half will win this game. Plain and simple.

Bankerdanny said:

Man I hate the NFL Network feed. Why do they take down and distance off the field before the snap?

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Here we go for another exciting half of watching grass grow, I mean Bears football. Niners with the ball and start by feeding Gore for 3. HOLY CRAP! Tommie Harris blows it up like it was 2006! Right into the backfield for a loss of 3. WOW! Tommie of old. Crabtree picks up 5 but the Bears stop em. Time for Hester to make up for his sloppy penalties. They don't punt it near him There's a flag on the play. Niners get hit with a personal foul to tack on 15 yards. Great field position to start their first drive of the 2nd half.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Bowman out according to Jeff Dickerson (@ESPNChiBears) Graham in at cornerback for Bowman.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Hester gets the bubble screen to pick up 8. Forte loses 2 in the backfielf. That play was doomed from the start. More 49ers in the backfield than Bears. 3rd and 4 coming up. Here comes a bit with a fast talking dude to go over the QB's since McMahon to Cutler. Gee, that's original. Never seen that before.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Jay Grossman with another pick! Oh my! HORRIBLE!!! It looked like he was throwing a jump pass in basketball. If you're going to throw picks, why not do it throwing bombs not 4 yards fucking passes.

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Another "gunslinger" moment for the Bears...they just aren't a good enough team to be able to afford a QB that is careless with possession...and no draft picks to get any help for the guy..I see a bleak three years coming...

Oak Park Lefty said:

Minnesota Bear Fan said:

Tell me again how many draft picks we'll have in the coming years?

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Bears squander great field position again. Defense is rising up. Looks like the ref took Hester out on that INT that Cutler just threw. Niners losing yardage as the D is fired up. 3rd and 12 coming. Alex Smith had his arm hit and picked off by Briggs, but there was an offsides. Nice going! 3rd and 7. Draw play to Gore and he looks to be a little short. They'll measure but it looks well short. Niners will go for it. Might as well.

kevin said:

user-pic

i blame the offensive line for how bad Cutler has been tonight. They cant make any room to run and offer very little protection for the qb.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Smith tries the keeper, but it looks like the defense held. BEARS BALL! Singletary is raving maniac on the sideline.

TheFoss1957 said:

kevin said:

the screen pass has been very effective tonight

Mike Burzawa said:

Bears run their best offensive play - the screen to Forte. Kreutz and Beekman out in front and nice downfield blocking by Bennett. Big pickup and another nice play.

christian h. said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

The thing, all QBs look worse in Chicago than other places. This suggests there's more going on than bad QB play. It's the line and Ron Turner. The line means no running game and no time, Turner means the opposing D gets to jump the routes 'cause they are so predictable.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Hester with another bubble to pick up 2. Forte gains nothing. 3rd and 8 from the 21. At least we're not in the red zone yet. Bennett with a slip screen. Are we setting up for the field goal. Gould on to kick a 38 yarder. Solid Gould. Bears with 3 more and it's 7-6 Niners.

kevin said:

user-pic

funny, they seemed to try variations of the screen and a run that went nowhere, maybe turner should mix it up a bit

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Smith hits Crabtree to pick up 20. He's been quiet since the first quarter. Niners out to the 50. Looks like they've decided to start attacking the Cover-2 with more passing. Gore dropped for another loss. What waS Vernon Davis saying about the Front 7? 3rd and 8 and it looks like another false start on the Niners to set up 3rd and 13. Attack Smith!

night750 said:

Mike Burzawa said:

Lance said:

Matt Forte, huh? Something less than 3 yards (like 2) and a cloud of dust. Either release him outright, or take the entire offensive line to the St. Valentines Day garage and blow them away. It's one or the other, yes?

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Hester putting on some moves and draws a facemask penalty as he gets bottled up on the return.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Forte gets nothing, actually loses a yard. Cutler can't hook up with Bennett on the out. He's got over 200 passing yards and 3 picks. 3rd and long. Cutler hits Olsen on a nice route to pick up 14 down the middle. First down!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Bears are just crap on 1st down. They should just start at 2nd and 10 every time. Cutler hits Bennett to pick up about 40. Great run after the catch by Bennett. 2 flags scare me. Offsetting penalties. Who was downfield? Garza ineligible. Dammit. 2nd and 10. I guess they weren't offsetting penalties after all. Lousy work by the refs but the Bears pick up some yardage on that.

christian h. said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

This O line is absolutely the worst. The only time they get down field is... to create a penalty.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Forte hits the spin button, but can't break free. Another 3rd down coming from the 39. Cutler slips the pressure, but can't get it to Knox. He was wide open and just couldn't get enough on it, moving to his right. Maynard with a pooch punt down to the 6. Time to bring the heat. I am thinking turnover and a pick 6 here. Let's go Defense!!!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Gore gets eaten alive. Wale leads the charge! Thank you Vernon Davis for doing what Rod Marinelli couldn't do - motivating the D-line!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

That'll do it for the 3rd quarter as the Niners cling to a 1 point lead. Should we have expected anything but a defensive struggle with Singletary and the Bears matching up??

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Nothing doing as Smith tries to hit an out in front of Corey Graham. Hester back around midfield. No return. Another great opportunity by the Bears. Dial up another one of those screens Ronnie.

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

I am not gonna discard Forte yet...he is best with a Lead Block between the tackles...one cut and downhill... Why the moron RT keeps calling single back sweeps and slants defies logic. And yes the O-Line needs to be retooled...but with only late round draft picks, it is gonna be more luck than skill to get valuable replacements.

Lance said:

Inclined to agree. But Matt just doesn't seem to be a game-changer.

Our draft picks ... oh ... please don't remind me. Next SB in about 10 years or so. :(

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Forte picks up about 3 running up the middle. Hole closed quickly - he needed to hit it quicker. Forte tries the cutback but that lane got closed off. Another 3rd and long. Why do we keep setting ourselves up for these? Cutler INT again! This is getting ridiculous. Low snap came in and Cutler rushed and he tried to force it. Cutler complaining about the no-call as Kellen Davis got bumped off on the play. UGH!!!!

TheFoss1957 said:

Mike Burzawa said:

Gore with a little trickeration on the direct snap. He takes off down the sideline and Peanut pokes it away. 49ers recover. 1st and goal. Gore came up gimpy with a shoulder but he's on to try to punch it in. He gets it down to the 1. He goes down for a loss. Nice work by the defensive front. 3rd and goal. Do the Niners try Gore from the 4? Smith throws it away. Someone show that tape to Cutler. If you don't have anything in the red zone, throw it away!

Lance said:

Cutler tries to hit Knox on a slant and it's through his hands. Cutler with a little extra mustard on it. 3rd and 8. Cutler tosses a lollipop that not even the Niners can catch up with. Maynard with a bad punt, but gets a great roll inside the 20.

Gore is shut down again Great penetration by Harrison. How about a takeaway Bears? Gore gashes the Bears to the tune of 23 yards. It's only a matter of time with that guy. Gets the Niners out to the 40. They keep feeding the beast and he gets 3 more. Closing in on the century mark. 7 minutes left. Need a stop, but it's more Gore. 3rd down and 3 or 4 coming up.

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Gore comes out and Michael freaking Robinson picks up the first running right. Niners are wise to run the crap out of the ball and keep it out of Alex Smith's hands. Got to get a stop - under 5 minutes left.

Mike Burzawa said:

Tommie Harris jumped offsides to give the Niners another crack at 2nd down. Gore picks up another 2. 3rd and about 3. Need this stop with 4 minutes left. Smith pressured and dumps an underhanded flip that he juggles and hauls in. Under 4 minutes left. Gore gets devoured by Briggs. Bears take a time out. This very winnable game is slipping away.

Bears actually stop the Niners on 3rd down. Niners turn down a 50 yarder and elect to punt. Hester time? Nope. Touchback. 80 yards to cover in just under 3 minutes with 1 time out and the 2-minute warning. The only question - how many INT's can Cutler throw?? Cutler running for his life and throws it away.

Lance said:

Last chance, really, for Cutler to show that he's more than some prima donna.

Quinn said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

Now, come on
we can do this

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Cutler zings one down the middle and can't hook up with Bennett. 3rd down coming up, though it's 4 down territory. Cutler throws it away as a flag flies. Offsides? I hope? Nope. Illegal formation. With 2:31 you've got to go for it, no?

TheFoss1957 said:

Cutler really has been showing happy feet...and the Bears are down to 4th and desperate

Quinn said:

remember those great drives at the beginning of the season? WE CAN DO THIS!!!

TheFoss1957 said:

Draw...Holding...Doom...I tell you our team is doooommmed!

Mike Burzawa said:

user-pic

Ballgame coming up. Cutler took a shot. Looks like a penalty in the seccondary. Automatic first down. Singletary might just drop his pants right on the sideline over that call. Bears hand it to Forte on the draw. Holding on the Bears. Sure. Garza not having a good day. 1st and 20 from the 18. 2:15 left. Bears diving into the pile draws a flag. Stupid football! Gain and give back. The 2 minute warning hits as I go to throw up. Again.

TheFoss1957 said:

user-pic

Great disipline (I need a sarcasm font!)...a PF to make it 2nd and forever and our guys need another cheap penalty in the secondary to stay alive. This brain dead and heartless team reflect every bit of the lack of emotion of the coach...no urgency...no brains...no hope.

Can we get a real officiating crew????? How was that unecessary roughness, that has been going on all game by both teams!

Mike Burzawa said:

I'm getting word from SF that Williams was told there was a doughnut at the bottom of that pile.

Mike Burzawa said:

Cutler hits Hester for 10. 3rd and 10. Forte with a nice gain and for a change, it's on the Niners. Bears out to the 45. Cutler hits Olsen to midfield to gain 6. Hester on a slant for a first. Cutler spikes it. Can JC redeem himself??

LeftBrain said:

So someone tell a disadvantaged blind fan in Santa Rosa hotel what's going on

Mike Burzawa said:

Hester picks up 9 more down to the 31. Cutler is carving up the Niners on slants, now one to Knox. 13 seconds and the Bears have the ball down to the 12. Niners take a time out. Holy crap. Can we actually pull this off?

LeftBrain said:

Lemme know when we win.

CoachA2525 said:

Nice Job Cutler. What a bum!

TheFoss1957 said:

Cutler had absolutely no lane to get that pass to Olsen...absolutely Cutler's indisipline to lose this one.

Lance said:

The nice thing is that I live in Tokyo and can't actually *see* this circus.

Mike Burzawa said:

Aromashodu with a great catch. Olsen is overthrown. 8 seconds left. 2 plays left? Gotta go quick. And it's picked off in the end zone to seal it.

Ballgame over. Season over. Cutler's and Jerry Angelo's careers over?

That was the ugliest game I've ever seen by a quarterback ever. That includes Grossman, Krenzel, Quinn, the lot of them. Bears are losers. 2009 is a loser.

Announcers kept saying "this is why the Bears got Cutler..."...uhhhhh, huh? Cutler stinks but I am seriously wondering if perhaps he needs glasses...he cannot see!! Seriously . . . D'angelo, Smith, Turner should go to a corner franchise where they can ask customers, "you want fries with that"?

KPOM said:

Meanwhile, Kyle Orton is 6-2. Just saying...

BWAAAHAAAHHHHAAHHHAAAA!!!!! yeah remember you Bears fans coming over to the Denver Post after the trade to gloat?! Ya, sure you do. How do you feel RIGHT NOW? Huh? Sorry folks, you just saw your QB BUST. No more excuses about receivers, no more excuses about the O line your FRANCHISE QB just showed you what he's worth. Hey at least you got the draft to get better right?! Wait what??!!!

And BTW...even after a 6-0 start you donk fans were bitching about Orton.

CoachA2525 said:

How much does the lack of coaching play in the role of Jay Cutler? This guy has degressed since coming to the bears. Much like most players. Angelo is an idiot. Lovie is an idiot. Turner? Yeah. idiot! Cutler? idiot too. This team is god awful. Complete waste of oxygen.

KPOM said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

Well, I start off by saying this. Do not blame that game on the defense. I don't care who you play, whether it's a high school football team, a junior college team, a college team, much less an NFL team, when you turn the ball over 5 times, [5] interceptions, one for a touchdown...

MR Foss, you are one in a million. Literally. If I had a nickle for every obnoxious Bears fan that called the Broncos suckers I could buy out Buffett. This is what they call payback my friend. Sorry but the Bears fans deserve it. Maybe not you, but your clan, fo sho.

Jay Cutler is a "franchise" quarterback according to every media outlet in town. I understand that not all of these are his fault. However, most are. This guy is terrible (17 int. so far). The so-called "experts" should have been very critical of this move to begin with. He is a turn over machine that puts up meaningless stats when it does not matter.

wordberg said:

default userpic local-auth auth-type-mt

And to your point about Orton, Mr Foss, hey WE KNOW we don't have a franchise QB. Do you?

Bearfan4decades said:

I just watched the presser on NFL -
Jay punked out as usual.

And they're laughing at us

3 national tv games this year -

3 cutler-phuques ...

That's gonna' be the new term for our Bears' games
