I made it back from Seattle in one piece.  WHEW!!!  That game was intense, especially watching it live in enemy territory. I'll be posting some pictures and video clips from my experience over at Bear Goggles On, so be sure to check it out.

In the meantime, in an effort to make your Game Day as smooth as possible, I thought I'd share this nugget regarding the new "security" policy at Soldier Field for those lucky fans going to the showdown with the suddenly-hot Lions on Sunday.

Don't forget that if you're not going to the game, be sure to check out our live blog every Bears game for game updates, analysis and instant reaction.  Look for it every Game Day.

The Chicago Bears announced a new policy for bags and personal items being brought into Soldier Field beginning with Sunday's October 4th tilt against the Lions.  Some of the highlights:
...fans will not be allowed to bring into Soldier Field any backpack, fanny pack, duffel bag, shoulder purse, non-fitting, oversized camera cases or any other types of bags, regardless of size.

Items allowed after inspection include small hand-held ''clutch'' purses, diaper bags (with related items), medical bags, clear zip-lock bags for personal food, clear Bears Pro Shop bags with merchandise, cameras with a 6-inch maximum lens and binoculars with fit-to-size cases. All items must fit into a 12-inch-by-12-inch box at the gates.
Why not just charge an extra $25 a bag, like the airlines do?  I'm sure it won't take long for  the Bears and other NFL teams to find a way to make money on it.

The policy sounds well and good in October, but what happens in December when you need to bring your extra layers, thermos of "hot tea" and other Game Day essentials?  I'll be curious to see how this plays out.

Check out the full policy on the Bears website here.
