...two highly placed individuals within the organization have separately indicated that there will not be a change at the top of the on-field org chart, due in some measure to the looming prospect of a strike/lockout. The same assurances were not there with respect to changes on the staffs for offense and defense.Clearly, these sources are not aware of the hottest new blog on the web and our mission to mount an airtight case against Lovie and not rest until he's fired.
Sources: Lovie will be back in 2010
John "Moon" Mullin is reporting in his CSN Chicago View from the Moon blog that Lovie Smith will not be going anywhere any time soon and will return to coach the Bears in 2010. Check out this excerpt:
So basically, the Bears organization is telling us that they have no
interest in putting the best product on the field because of the possibility of a lockout in 2011.
In the meantime, they're going to let the best class of Free Agent coaches scatter to Washington, Cleveland, Dallas, etc.over a few million bucks. What is the franchise worth - about $785 million??? What's $11 million? That's tip money!
Instead, they're going to gut the coaching staffs on both sides of the ball. Offensive coordinator Ron Turner is as good as gone. Great. Fantastic. Anything but that damn wide receiver screen, right Devin?
But what about that defensive coordinator? What is his name? Oh yeah - it's LOVIE SMITH. They can't fire the defensive coordinator because he also happens to be the overpaid and under-performing head coach. If you fire him, you have to pay him for 2010 AND the potential lockout year of 2011 for doing nothing.
The reason the Bears doesn't want to FIRE LOVIE is that they have to pay him AND their new coach for doing nothing in 2011 while the owners lock out the players while they figure out how to increase their revenue and make themselves richer.
By the way, please make sure you get your season ticket renewal forms and checks in to Halas Hall ASAP.
It looks like I'd better roll up my sleeves - I've got a lot of work to do!
FIRE LOVIE!!!

The person who should be fired is the the person who made the decision to not leave for Baltimore before the storm hit. As a result the game has been pushed back. I can't wait that long for the Baltimore Ravens to spank the Bears. If Smith was the one who made that decision than so be it.

This blog is more than appropriate and let us all hope we can --- as they say on T.V. - move on. WITHOUT LOVIE SMITH...

This team has been SOOOO pathetic this season, I think that Bears will have to just to save face. How many "legitimate" losses do the Bears have to suffer before changes are made. When the team is historically bad, it's time to make an historic move. FIRE LOVIE!!!

Since the McCaskies came into ownership of this team it has gone into the crapper. Since their tenure they have slowly demolished the franchise papa Halas built. Virginia Halas Mccaskie has tarnished her fathers leagacy. We all are in the habit of blaming the coaches, and players for our lack of success when in reality the change should start at the top. Changing coaches and players doesnt bring success unless the people making the changes are in business to make a winning team. The Mccaskies dont care whether this team wins or loses just as long they fill their pockets from teickets sales. Since they took over I dont recall ever having a winning coach and offense since Ditka. If you think back not long after they took over they traded Gault, Mckinnon, Mcmahon, and if it wasnt for Payton retiring he would have been the next on the trade train. They have consistantly hired mediocre coaches and have cut offensive players who have showed promise just to save money. Everyone wanted to hang Grossman blaming him for the problems and claiming if we just had a decent quaterback we would be a contender. I hate to break everyones bubble by saying Cutler is a pro bowl quaterback and hes playing like Grossman which tells me it wasnt Grossman who was bad it was the organizational structure which made him look bad. Mohammed said it best when he said and I quote"Chicago is where receivers go to die". Chicago has no offensive philosophy nor do they have the personnel to develop young players. Until the team is sold to an owner who wants a winning franchise the fiasco will continue.
