Bears Victory over Viking Upsetting - FIRE LOVIE SMITH
Don't be fooled Bears fans. Don't let the Lovie Smith apologists talk you off the ledge. The Bears surprising 36-30 upset victory over the NFC North champion Minnesota Vikings should make you angry and is further proof of why Lovie Smith needs to fired immediately.
Here are some fundamental questions after watching that game:
DA BEARS
How can you possibly justify Devin Aromashodu not being on the field more before the last couple of games? He led the team with 150 receiving yards and the game-winning TD in overtime. He and Cutler clearly have a chemistry and Cutler has practically been begging to see more of this guy. How can you possibly justify Rashied Freaking Davis suiting up on Game Days ahead of this guy?
Williams ahead of the Pace
Chris Williams looked pretty good holding down one of the top pass rushers in the league. Sure, he had a little help with some chip blocks, but more often than not, Jared Allen was nowhere to be found.
We were all able to see the Orlando Pace was struggling mightily from the start of the season. Why did it take an injury to get Williams in his rightful place? There is always talk about putting the best players on the field to help the team win. So why not this move?
Inspiration Point
Tommie Harris played an inspired game. Where has this been all season? As a matter of fact, where has the sense of urgency for the entire team been all season? Why did it take a meaningless game on Monday Night Football to inspire the team to put forth this type of effort?
Almost blew it
Had it not been for a blocked PAT by Izzy Idonije, the Bears very well may have lost this game. Enjoying a 16-point halftime lead, the Vikings came back to tie up the ballgame - TWICE!
Brett Favre carved up the Cover-2 defense like a Christmas goose. I'll admit, Brett Favre is other-worldly and he's done this to plenty of teams, but this Bears team lacks the killer instinct to put teams away.
FIRE LOVIE!!!
