The parents of a minor child who was in foster care are suing the foster parents, case worker and agency after the child was allegedly beaten while in care.
Plaintiffs Mariam Lee and Bernard Hightower allege that their daughter was placed in foster care with defendant Booker Terry who battered and beat her "on her head causing her to suffer severe brain damage." The complaint further states that Booker Terry was not a licensed foster parent and it was illegal and against DCFS policies to place the child in that home.
The plaintiffs also allege that the defendant agency and its employees knew that Booker Terry had a history of violence and committed acts of violence against their daughter.
