Man sues bar after being denied re-entry
A man says security staff at Shadow Bar beat him up after he tried to regain access to the bar to retrieve his coat.
Kareem Levy says he was a patron at Shadow Bar on Lake Street in Chicago last December when he "started to fall asleep" inside the establishment. Security staff suggested Levy go outside to get some fresh air, which he did, and then "after becoming more awake," Levy attempted to re-enter the bar to retrieve his coat and car keys but was not allowed in because "there were some celebrities inside."
When Levy tried to explain that he needed his keys to drive home to the suburbs and to "keep warm during the cold December night," the security staff escalated the situation into an argument and struck, kicked and beat up Levy, the complaint states.
