A woman is suing Starbucks for injuries she said she sustained after drinking coffee with shards of glass in it.
According to the complaint, Jacqueline Syzc did not notice anything unusual when she began drinking the coffee she purchased from a Starbucks in Addison, Illinois, but when she was nearly finished with the beverage, she noticed shards of glass in the bottom of the cup.
The complaint further states that as the day went on Syzc began to experience stomach cramps and pains in her upper abdomen. X-rays performed the same day revealed the presence of glass in her intestine and Syzc was admitted to Northwest Community Hospital where she stayed for two days, the complaint states.
According to the complaint, Syzc continues to experience pain and suffering.
