Pro Wrestler sues after he falls getting out of ring

Professional wrestler Gregory Lee is suing Windy City Pro Wrestling after the stairs leading from the wrestling ring collapsed.

According to the complaint, on July 10, 2009, Lee was participating in a wrestling entertainment event at Toyota Park in Bridgeview when the stairs leading from the wrestling ring collapsed, causing him to fall and be injured.

The complaint asserts that Windy City Pro Wrestling was negligent when it, among other things, "failed to adequately light the catwalk and stairs leading from the wrestling ring."

Lee is also suing the Village of Bridgeview, as well as a third defendant, asserting that it participated in the construction of the catwalk and stairs.

On Wednesday, we reported the following:

ChicagoNow.com is reporting that independent wrestler Gregory Lee is suing longtime area independent promotion Windy City Pro Wrestling, claiming that he was injured on their 7/10 event in Bridgeview, IL at Toyota Park when stairs leading to the ring collapsed, causing him to fall and be injured. Lee is also suing the Village of Bridgeview, claiming that it helped in the construction of the stairs and the "catwalk" leading to them.

ChicagoNow.com's article includes the complete complaint. I believe this was the event that was promoted as part of "Hulk Hogan Appreciation Day" this past summer.

The wrestler referred to as " Gregory Lee" is actually WWE Hall Of Famer Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

Ok. I'm sure Mike Johnson knows wrestling better than Jen Fernicola. I was trusting wikipedia, where it says Greg "The Hammer" Valentine's real name is John Anthony Wisniski Jr and makes no mention of the surname Lee.

John Anthony Wisniski Jr is his real name not Gregory Lee or Greg the Hammer. Nowhere in that article does it say that greg hammer is his real name, those are both ring names.
